Sleeping with another personal can cause a lot of stress, even if you love them dearly. Not everyone’s sleep habits and preferences mesh with each other. In fact, it’s found that 25% of couples do not sleep in the same bed. At Mattress Clarity, when we think about the best mattress for couples, we were speaking more generally in that some mattresses better suit two people. However we’ve heard some interesting anecdotes from Helix Sleep that says the mattress has actually struck a chord with couples due to the personalization options.
Helix Sleep has a mattress showroom in NYC that lets people stop in and learn more about the mattress. The founders were pleasantly surprised to learn that couples were especially drawn to the mattress because you can personalize each side of the mattress.
“When each side is personalized, the mattress becomes essentially two mattresses fused together,” says Jerry Lin, co-founder of Helix Sleep. “This allows couples to choose the firmness, cooling, elasticity, and other factors that match their individual preferences.”
Many couples wandering into the showroom and buying online have been very interested in this unique aspect of the Helix. There are a number of other mattress companies that will let you personalize the mattress (Sleep Number for one), but they are all substantially more expensive.
I liked the personalization option when I first heard about Helix, but didn’t immediately think of the benefits for couples. It will be interesting to see how other mattress shoppers will utilize the personalization options of Helix as this new company continues to expand.
