Firmness And Feel Differences
We put the DreamCloud Premier and WinkBed to the test and found that they were different in regard to firmness and feel; this makes them a better fit for sleepers with different preferences.
How Firm Are The DreamCloud Premier And WinkBed Mattresses?
The DreamCloud Premier mattress feels like a 6.5/10 and is about medium in terms of firmness. The top layers of the DreamCloud Premier are plush and easy to press into, but we can also feel the support layers beneath them.
As mentioned above, we reviewed the WinkBed Luxury Firm mattress, which is neither their firmest nor softest model – it feels like a 7/10 and is only a bit firmer-than-average. The pillow top adds some softness to the mattress, but we can really feel the support of the coils when we lie down on the WinkBed.
Sleeping On The DreamCloud Premier And WinkBed Mattresses
Back sleeping on the DreamCloud Premier mattress, we do experience an excellent balance of comfort and support; our hips sink in while the memory foam layer conforms to the body. It is actually one of the best mattresses for back sleepers. Side sleeping, the DreamCloud also offers some noticeable pressure relief on the shoulders and hips, as the mattress allows us to sink in and really cushions those areas. Stomach sleeping, the mattress is a bit too soft, and we can feel our hips and center mass dipping into the DreamCloud mattress.
Back sleeping on the WinkBed, we feel even better support than we felt on the DreamCloud Premier mattress; the support coils are holding us up, and the micro-coils and plush pillow top are providing some good contouring. Side sleeping, we are getting less pressure relief than we received on the WinkBed mattress and are feeling some noticeable firmness on the shoulders and hips. Stomach sleeping, the mattress is a bit too soft but is still more supportive than the DreamCloud mattress.
What Do The DreamCloud Premier And WinkBed Feel Like?
In terms of feel, the DreamCloud Premier has a balanced hybrid mattress feel with some of that slow-moving memory foam feel on top. It isn’t the most responsive mattress, so it isn’t always easy to move around and reposition on the DreamCloud.
The WinkBed has more of that classic innerspring mattress feel with a pillow top feel on top and looks and feels similar to what one would find in a high-end hotel.

Heavyweight Sleepers – Over 230 lbs
Heavyweight sleepers should experience better support when they are lying on the WinkBed because of those two sets of coils. When they are side sleeping, they will get better pressure relief from the DreamCloud Premier, but they could still bottom out and feel some pressure on their shoulders and hips. Stomach sleeping, they are most definitely going to prefer the WinkBed, but they might still require more support under their hips and will want to look for a firmer mattress.
Lightweight Sleepers – Under 130 lbs
Lightweight sleepers are going to get enough support on both the DreamCloud Premier and the WinkBed, but they could feel just a bit more comfortable lying on the softer DreamCloud Premier. They will definitely prefer the DreamCloud for side sleeping, but they will most likely want to consider the WinkBed for stomach sleeping.

The DreamCloud Premier’s cover is made of a cashmere blend, and it is quite breathable and soft to the touch. The WinkBed features a Tencel cover, which is technically derived from plants and often considered more natural and very breathable as well.
The DreamCloud Premier’s cover is quilted with a layer of soft memory foam, then there is another layer of gel-infused memory foam, and below both these layers, there is a layer of high-density polyfoam.
The WinkBed’s cover is tufted with two layers of Hypersoft foam which help create a soft Euro-style pillow top that really rises off the mattress.
The DreamCloud Premier contains individually-wrapped coils that are tall and very supportive. The WinkBed contains both micro-coils and individually-wrapped coils that are zoned and provide extra support for back sleeping.

Sleeping Hot Or Cold
Both the DreamCloud Premier and WinkBed mattresses are breathable mattresses because their coils allow for a fantastic amount of airflow. However, the WinkBed features two layers of coils, so there is even more room for airflow, and the top of the mattress feels cooler than the top of the DreamCloud Premier.
Between these two mattresses, the DreamCloud Premier seems to handle motion transfer the best. It features two layers of soft memory foam right on top, and memory foam is known for cutting down on motion transfer. This means sleeping partners should disturb each other less while they move around on the DreamCloud Premier mattress. Because of this, it could be the best mattress for couples.
The WinkBed is a firmer, more supportive mattress and, when we sit near the edge, it barely collapses. We also feel more secure lying down near the edge of the WinkBed and don’t feel like we are going to fall or roll off the mattress. We do not feel nearly as secure sitting or lying down on the DreamCloud Premier mattress and sometimes feel like we might roll off and onto the floor.
While both mattresses feature some durable materials, the WinkBed should still be the longer-lasting mattress. The two sets of coils plus the high-density Hypersoft foam should stand up to more use than the materials found in the DreamCloud Premier.
When we received these mattresses at our house, the DreamCloud came in a box, and the WinkBed was hand-delivered in its expanded form and simply needed to be unwrapped. Because of this, the DreamCloud had more of a chemical smell than the WinkBed when we opened it, but this smell dissipated in about 48 hours.
Both of these mattresses contain coils, but we did not find them to be particularly noisy. We could move around on the DreamCloud Premier and WinkBed without hearing squeaking or creaking in the mattress, but this might be more of an issue when the mattress is older.
Those who are seeking a mattress for sex usually want to choose something that is firmer and more responsive. The WinkBed is definitely the firmer and bouncier mattress of two and should make it very easy to move around and reposition during those intimate moments.
The DreamCloud Premier comes with a lifetime warranty and a 365-night sleep trial, and the WinkBed comes with a lifetime warranty and a 120-night sleep trial.
