I Recommend the DreamCloud Premier For…
- Hot sleepers. I found the DreamCloud Premier didn’t overheat as I slept on it, so hot sleepers should rest easy on it.
- Back and side sleepers. The DreamCloud Premier has a blend of softness and support that should complement these two types of sleepers.
- Pillow top fans. If you want a mattress with a luxurious-feeling pillow top, the Premier has you covered.
I Don’t Recommend the DreamCloud Premier For…
- Stomach sleepers. The same softness that makes this bed great for side and back sleepers won’t translate to good support for those who sleep on their stomach.
- Memory foam fans. The DreamCloud Premier is a hybrid mattress, and though it has some foam on top, it still feels a bit different than traditional memory foam mattresses. If you’re specifically seeking a memory foam mattress, many great options can be found on our list of best memory foam mattresses.
- Shoppers who want extra-soft or extra-firm. This bed has a true medium-firm feel, so if you’re partial to either extreme of the firmness spectrum, look for a mattress in that specific range.
DreamCloud Premier Mattress Test Performance: My Overall Rating
Our team of Certified Sleep Science Coaches personally put the DreamCloud Premier mattress through a range of tests to assess its performance with regards to temperature regulation, motion transfer, edge support, and more. I was most impressed by this bed’s responsiveness, along with the policies offered by the company.

DreamCloud Premier Performance in Our Tests
Support – 4/5
Lying on the DreamCloud Premier, I found that it has a plush feel, and I do sink in a fair bit. However, it offers an excellent balance of comfort and support because of its soft pillow top and sturdy coils. I tried out every sleeping position on the DreamCloud Premier, but I think this combination makes it great for back sleepers especially.
It also excels in pressure relief. That pillow top has a cushy feel that should cradle you without letting you bottom out. This means side sleepers should also enjoy the DreamCloud Premier as well. The bed still isn’t supportive enough for stomach sleepers, though, who should look for something on the firmer side.
Edge Support – 3/5
I sat down on the edge of the mattress and it did collapse a fair amount. For reference, I measured the amount of sagging with a tape measure, and I recorded the bed dipping a whopping 4.5”. So, it’s safe to say that I don’t feel very secure sitting down.
When I lie down near the edge of the DreamCloud Premier, I feel the edge collapsing the same, and I do feel like I might roll off the mattress. Edge support really isn’t a highlight of the DreamCloud Premier mattress.
Cooling – 4/5
The DreamCloud Premier should not be sleeping particularly hot because the top cover is quite breathable and should allow some air to pass into and escape from the mattress.
For our cooling test, we use a heat gun to record the change in temperature after lying on the mattress for five minutes. The gun initially read a temperature of 74.7 F, then it went up to 81.6 after five minutes. This 7-degree increase is pretty high, but it’s worth noting that I didn’t feel like I was overheating on the mattress, hence the better score.
Motion Transfer – 4/5
To test out the motion isolation capabilities of the DreamCloud Premier, I first placed a glass of water in the center of the mattress. I then pressed into the other areas of the mattress, trying to make a disturbance – I didn’t see too much wobbling from the glass or the water inside.
This lets me know that the DreamCloud Premier should do a good job of cutting down on motion transfer. If you have a restless partner who keeps you awake at night with their movements, this should be a good mattress for you.
Response – 4.5/5
There is some memory foam in the top layers of the DreamCloud Premier, and it is a little difficult to move around initially, but at the same time, the mattress has a noticeable amount of bounce due to the coils.
I was able to press down on the mattress surface and have it return to its original shape pretty quickly. All this being said, the DreamCloud Premier has good response—as to be expected of a hybrid mattress.
Durability – 4/5
The mattress contains some durable materials, so this should be a sound long-term investment – the high-density foams and coils should stand up to many years of use. The industry standard is anywhere from seven to 10 years, and I’d say the DreamCloud Premier should fall in that vein.
If you’re worried about longevity, the brand backs up their quality beds with a lifetime warranty. More on that below.
DreamCloud Premier Policy Scores
Trial Period – 5/5
The DreamCloud Premier offers a 365-day trial, nearly quadrupling the industry standard.
If you realize that the DreamCloud Premier is not the best fit, you can return the mattress within that 365-day trial period. Customers who are not 100% satisfied will receive a full refund.
Warranty – 5/5
The DreamCloud Premier comes with the security of a lifetime warranty. Most brands only offer limited warranties that cover 10 years of use, so we’d say this is very generous.
As for what exactly it entails, DreamCloud will replace or repair mattresses (depending on how long you’ve had it) that show defects even with normal use. Note that you may be initially charged a fee for removal or transportation, but this is usually refunded once the warranty is processed.
DreamCloud Premier – Other Factors to Consider
There’s a lot that goes into a mattress. Here’s some other categories you might want to check out before deciding on your final purchase.
Off-Gassing
“Off-gassing” refers to the chemical smell that sometimes wafts off compressed mattresses (especially those that contain memory foam) when they’re removed from original packaging. The DreamCloud Premier thankfully contains coils so it is going to pop open pretty quickly. We did notice some off-gassing, but that’s okay. Just clear away the plastic and give the mattress 24 to 48 hours to fully expand and that smell should dissipate.
Noise
I didn’t notice any real squeaking or creaking while moving around on the DreamCloud Premier mattress. The individually-wrapped coils would be the only component in the mattress that might make noise after years of use, but that shouldn’t be a problem until the end of your mattress’ lifespan.
Sex
Couples who are searching for the best mattress for sex typically want to pick something that is bouncy and responsive. The DreamCloud Premier mattress checks that box. I found it responded quickly to movements on the surface. So, it fits as a great mattress for sex.
Mattress Height
The DreamCloud Premier mattress is 13″ tall. This is on the taller end of beds, and a plus for folks who like a lofty mattress. Just be aware of this thickness if you’re purchasing a platform frame. And if 13” still isn’t tall enough for you, you can go one inch more with the DreamCloud Premier Rest.
Sleeping Position and Weight
I found the DreamCloud Premier had a true medium-firm feel. This should make it a good fit for back sleepers of all sizes. It also had enough softness at the top to provide pressure relief for most side sleepers. The problem comes with stomach sleepers. These sleepers need a firmer mattress, and the DreamCloud Premier just doesn’t provide the support—especially for heavier folks. Only some lightweight stomach sleepers should find themselves comfortable on the DreamCloud Premier.
The chart below shows how each body type and sleeping position should experience sleeping on the DreamCloud Premier.
Sleeper Weight | Back Sleepers | Side Sleepers | Stomach Sleepers |
Lightweight (Under 130 lb) | Excellent | Good | Fair |
Average (130 – 230 lb) | Excellent | Excellent | Bad |
Heavyweight (Over 230 lb) | Excellent | Good | Bad |
Heavyweight Tester – [6’7”, 270 lbs]
“The DreamCloud Premier feels best lying on my back; I sink into the top layer, but I still feel supported under my lumbar area and across the rest of my body. I also feel the foam layers take the shape of my body, so I am very comfortable.” – Marten
DreamCloud Premier Mattress Construction
Now that you know what it feels like to lie on top of the DreamCloud Premier, let’s look at the construction and review how these elements might affect performance.
Cover
The cover is soft, breathable, and made of a cashmere blend. It helps keep the surface of the mattress feeling cool by allowing air to flow through it.
Comfort Layers
Contained within the pillow top are two layers of quilted foam. The first is a gel memory foam with a plush feel that should mold to the shape of your body. Underneath, a second quilted layer of more supportive foam bolsters the cushioning feel of the mattress surface.
Another thicker layer of gel memory foam aids in relieving pressure. It sits on top of a dynamic foam layer that acts as the transition between the comfort layers and the support core of the mattress.
Support Layer
The individually-wrapped coils are high-grade and should be able to support sleepers of many weights but, at the same time, they might not be able to support people over 300lbs. The coils rest on a thin layer of base foam. There’s also a lower cover with handles encasing the bottom of the mattress.
How To Try and Buy The DreamCloud Premier Mattress
If you’re ready to pull the trigger on your DreamCloud Premier mattress, simply head to the DreamCloud site and purchase directly from them. DreamCloud also partners with mattress stores across the country if you’re someone who likes to shop in-person.
When you order online, though, the mattress will arrive compressed in a box for easy delivery and set-up. But if you still want the extra help, you can pay for Premium In-Home Setup ($200). Remember to take full advantage of their 365-night trial to see if the bed is truly a good fit for you. If you find it isn’t, you can return it for free within the trial window. Just make sure you’re getting the best bang for your buck; wait for a sale or make use of our DreamCloud coupons.

DreamCloud Premier Vs DreamCloud Mattress
Both the original DreamCloud and the DreamCloud Premier are hybrid mattresses made with gel memory foam and individually-wrapped coils. Their quilted cashmere-blend covers are breathable and create a soft pillow top feel, making both mattresses a great option for people who sleep hot at night.
The DreamCloud Premier, as the upgraded model, has more comfort layers than the original DreamCloud, and it’s made with premium materials. In addition to making it more durable, this results in a better motion isolation score. The DreamCloud Premier is softer than the DreamCloud and a better mattress for side sleepers, while the DreamCloud’s firmer feel should work better for stomach sleepers.

DreamCloud Premier vs DreamCloud Premier Rest
If you want to go even more high-end, DreamCloud offers their Premier Rest model as the creme-de-la-creme of luxury hybrids. The Premier Rest feels slightly softer than the DreamCloud Premier — the Premier Rest is a 6/10 while the Premier is a 6.5/10 on the firmness scale. So, the Premier Rest is a better option for side sleepers.
The most glaring difference, though, is that Premier Rest has a higher price point. The Premier Rest is $2499.00 for a queen compared to the Premier’s $1832.00 queen price tag. If you can get comfortable on a medium-firm mattress, the DreamCloud Premier is the better budget choice.

DreamCloud Premier vs Saatva Classic
The Saatva Classic is another luxury hybrid mattress, but it’s quite different from the DreamCloud Premier. For one, it has two coil units instead of one, and it also comes in three different firmnesses (Soft, Luxury Firm, and Firm). Their medium-firm option, the Luxury Firm (7/10), is a bit firmer than the DreamCloud Premier (6.5/10). This makes the Saatva a better choice for back and stomach sleepers, where the DreamCloud Premier shines for side sleepers.
When it comes to performance, I was more impressed by the Saatva’s edge support, but the DreamCloud Premier has better motion isolation. The Premier might be a win for couples. The other major deciding factor is price. Sales often bring the cost of a queen-size Premier to only $949—whereas a Saatva costs nearly $1,800. It might be worth the extra bucks for Saatva’s customization and white glove delivery, but if you’re looking to save, stick to the Premier.
