Logan & Cove Mattress Firmness and Feel

First things first – let’s discuss firmness and feel.

How Firm is the Logan & Cove?

The Logan & Cove mattress is available in two firmness levels: Medium Plush and Luxury Firm. We reviewed the Luxury Firm model, which has a classic medium-firm feel. According to our firmness scale, this model feels like a 6.5/10. If you prefer soft mattresses, opt for the Medium Plush model.

Sleeping On The Logan & Cove

Generally, the Logan & Cove mattress works well for back, side, and stomach sleepers. The mattress’s strong coil system and plush comfort layers offer a great balance of comfort and support. It’s important to remember, however, that people will experience this mattress differently depending on their body type.

What Does the Logan & Cove Feel Like?

The Logan & Cove mattress has a balanced hybrid feel. The top layers feel particularly plush, while the bottom layers provide ample support. You’ll get plenty of pressure relief, but you shouldn’t feel like you’re sinking “inside” the mattress.

Average Weight Sleepers – 130 lb – 230 lb

Average weight sleepers who weigh less than 170 lb should feel comfortable and supported in all three sleeping positions. Stomach sleepers who weigh more than 170 lb, however, will probably feel their spine craning out of its natural alignment. This can lead to lower back pain over time, so if this is your preferred sleeping position, we recommend looking for one of the best mattresses for stomach sleepers.

Heavyweight Sleepers – Over 230 lb

The Logan & Cove mattress works well for heavyweight back and side sleepers who weigh between 230 and 300 lb. The durable innersprings feel supportive and strong, while the thick comfort layers help cushion joints and alleviate pain along pressure points. Stomach sleepers, and those who weigh more than 300 lb, may need a more supportive mattress. If you fall in this category, we recommend checking out our list of the best mattresses for heavy people.

Lightweight Sleepers – Under 130 lb

No matter their sleeping position, lightweight people should feel comfy on the Logan & Cove mattress. Folks who weigh less than 130 lb won’t compress the top layers too much, so they should feel both pressure relief and lumbar support.

Logan & Cove Mattress Construction

What makes this mattress stand out? To really understand, we’ll need to look at its construction.

Mattress Height

The Logan & Cove mattress is 14” tall.

Cover

Made with Tencel fabric, the cover helps wick away moisture and keep sleepers cool.

Comfort Layers

The Logan & Cove mattress has several comfort layers. The first one consists of a tufted pillow top. Filled with a silk-blend material, the top layer feels breathable and lightweight.

Underneath the pillow top sits a layer of Cooling Gel Comfort Foam. Gel helps dissipate body heat and contours to the body. But the pressure relief doesn’t stop there! The next comfort layer is made with Logan & Cove’s Cooling Gel Memory Foam, which provides even more plush comfort.

Support Layers

Next up: Logan & Cove’s Supportive, Motion-Isolating Bio Foam. This section consists of two layers of soy-infused foam, which offers lumbar support and helps eliminate motion transfer.

At the bottom, you’ll find a layer of individually pocketed coils. This is what gives the bed its bouncy feel and strong edge support.

Logan & Cove Mattress Performance

But how well does this mattress perform? To find out, we put the bed through a number of tests. Read on for the results!

Sleeping Hot or Cold

Thanks to its breathable constriction, the Logan & Cove mattress is one of the best cooling mattresses. The gel foam layers help pull heat away from the body, and the pocketed coils allow room for airflow. If you tend to overheat at night, this could be a great choice.

Motion Transfer

Even though it has springy coils, the Logan & Cove mattress isolates motion quite well. Sensitive sleepers might notice some movement if their partner shifts sleeping positions during the night, but overall, this bed performs well when it comes to motion transfer.

Edge Support

Motion transfer isn’t the only thing you should think about if you share a bed with a partner. Edge support also plays a significant role. If a bed has poor edge support, you’re forced to rest closer to the center of the mattress.

A woman sits on the edge of the Logan and Cove mattress

Fortunately, the Logan & Cove mattress has a reinforced edge, so sleepers shouldn’t feel unstable when they sit or rest along the side of the bed.

Durability

The Logan & Cove mattress contains many high-quality materials, so we expect it to last a few years longer than other beds on the market. Overall, this mattress should last at least a decade.

Off-Gassing

Off-gassing refers to the chemical smell that’s often emitted when a bed is unboxed. It’s quite common, and it shouldn’t raise concern. The Logan & Cove mattress did have a slight chemical odor at first, but the smell faded away after 48 hours.

Noise

When we tested the Logan & Cove mattress, we didn’t notice any noise. It’s possible the coils could start to squeak as time goes on, however.

Sex

Couples looking for one of the best mattresses for sex typically want beds that feel bouncy and responsive. If this is a top priority for you, the Logan & Cove could be a good option. This bed has a springy feel, making it easy to move around and switch positions on.

Company Policies

We don’t recommend rushing into your purchasing decision. It’s always smart to understand the company policies before clicking “add to cart.”

Warranty Info

The Logan & Cove mattress is backed by a 15-year warranty.

Sleep Trial

Good Morning offers a 120-night sleep trial period for the Logan & Cove mattress.

Return Policy

If you’re not happy with your purchase, you can return it for a full refund – as long as it’s within the first 120 days.

Common Logan & Cove Mattress Complaints

Most people love their Logan & Cove mattress, but some people found it wasn’t a great match. Larger stomach sleepers will likely feel their hips sink out of alignment, which can cause lower back pain.

How Does The Logan & Cove Compare To Other Mattresses?

With so many mattresses on the market, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. To alleviate some of this stress, we’ll compare the Logan & Cove mattress with two other beds from Good Morning: The Full Moon and Novosbed.

Logan & Cove vs Full Moon

The Full Moon mattress feels slightly softer than the Logan & Cove, coming in at 6/10 on our firmness scale. And at 8” tall, the Full Moon is also much thinner.

You won’t find many bells and whistles in the Full Moon mattress. It has two comfort layers: a Cooling Gel Foam layer and a Total Support Foam layer. Because of its simple construction, it works best for lightweight sleepers.

Full Moon Side Sleeping

The Full Moon mattress has a lower price point, coming in at $449.00 for a queen as compared to Logan & Cove’s $ price tag.

Who Should Get The Logan & Cove Mattress?

  • Average and heavyweight people
  • Fans of a balanced hybrid feel
  • People who want a more luxury mattress

Who Should Get The Full Moon Mattress?

  • Lightweight sleepers
  • Fans of all-foam mattresses
  • People who want to save money

Check out our Full Moon mattress review.

Logan & Cove vs Novosbed

If you’re looking for one of the best Canadian mattresses, you can’t go wrong with either the Novosbed or Logan & Cove. They aren’t identical, however. The most notable difference between these two mattresses lies in their construction. Novosbed is an all-foam mattress with a washable cover, while the Logan & Cove has a more traditional hybrid layout.

The Novosbed is available in Soft, Medium, and Firm, while the Logan & Cove mattress only has two firmness options: Medium Plush and Luxury Firm.

Novosbed Mattress

The Novosbed has more of a slow-moving memory foam feel, while the Logan & Cove feels more responsive. If you want to save some money, though, the Novosbed is a better option.

Who Should Get The Logan & Cove Mattress?

  • Fans of hybrid mattresses
  • People who want a more luxurious option
  • Those who want a balanced feel

Who Should Get The Novosbed?

  • Fans of slow-moving mattresses
  • People who want more firmness options
  • Those who want to save a little bit of money
