The perfect bed sheets can make the world a cooler place for hot sleepers by helping you regulate body temperature and creating a more comfortable sleep environment. However, with so many options available, choosing the best set can feel overwhelming. That’s why I’ve done the research and testing to find the very best cooling sheets available today.
Together with my fellow sleep product testers, I’ve evaluated dozens of sheet sets to identify those that truly deliver when it comes to breathability, moisture-wicking, and overall comfort. Every option on this list stands out for its high-quality construction and ability to help you sleep cooler, no matter the season.
Our dedicated product testers and certified sleep science coaches have run more than 500 mattresses and accessories through a series of trials to determine their strengths and weaknesses. Our data and years of personal experience with these products have already allowed us to help more than 35,000 people find the best options for them. I also consulted with our Chief Medical Advisor Dr. Raj Dasgupta, MD, FACP, FCCP, FAASM, while organizing this list of the best cooling sheets to ensure the accuracy of our methodology and recommendations.
Read on to see which cooling sheets made my list.
Our Verdict: What Are the Best Cooling Sheets?
The Luxome Luxury Sheet Set is our pick for the best cooling sheets for hot sleepers because it earned high scores from our product testers, who said it felt like they were sleeping in pure luxury. These sheets feel silky and wick moisture away to prevent hot sleepers from waking up covered in sweat.
To find the best cooling sheets available, my fellow product testers and I spent weeks sleeping on different sets, paying attention to how each one felt throughout the night, especially in warmer temperatures. We assessed each set based on its cooling performance, fit, and long-term durability after multiple washes. Here’s more about what we looked for and why it matters.
Temperature Regulation – A set of cooling sheets should prevent you from waking up covered in sweat. Our product testers recommended sheets that were lightweight, cool to the touch, and made from breathable materials like bamboo and Tencel to help hot sleepers wake up to a dry bed.
Durability – Sleepers who tend to sweat more at night typically wash their sheets more. Our testers recommended sheets made from durable materials that can withstand numerous washes without rapidly deteriorating.
Fit – How a set of sheets fits can make or break your experience with them. We included deep-pocket sheets on our list to ensure that you can put them on your mattress without worrying about them fitting or sliding right off when you’re tossing and turning at night.
The perfect cooling bed sheets should be comfortable and durable while fitting snugly around your mattress without any hassle. Based on these criteria, the Luxome Luxury Sheet Set was the obvious choice for our product testing team. Product tester Matt Schickling awarded the Luxome sheet set a rating of 4.5/5 or higher in our core cooling sheet criteria, which include temperature regulation, durability, and fit.
Matt found that the Luxome Luxury Sheet Set made a striking difference in his overall comfort, awarding it a score of 4.5/5 in our temperature regulation category. He was impressed with its ability to keep things comfortable, even before he turned on the air conditioning.
“I’d say these contribute to an active difference in body temperature,” Matt said. “I’m a sweater, and I haven’t had that experience in these sheets after several weeks with them. Even on hot nights before we started running the air conditioning, these felt comfortable and cool. I’d recommend them to someone looking for a cooling set of sheets.”
The viscose from bamboo fabric played a key role here; its breathable, moisture-wicking properties are known to help dissipate heat and promote a cooler sleeping environment. For this reason, Matt also gave the sheets a perfect 5/5 in the materials category, praising the viscose for its softness and quality.
He also awarded the Luxome Luxury Sheet Set a 4.5/5 and a 5/5 in the durability and fit categories, respectively. Matt noted that the sheets had a very unique and stretchy feel. He appreciated that the stitching felt strong and that they didn’t have an excessive amount of seams.
However, as a restless sleeper, he particularly liked the Luxome’s perfect fit and corner bands for added security.
“One of my favorite features of these sheets is the supportive corner bands that secure each corner of the fitted sheet to the bed,” Matt said. “I toss and turn a lot, as I’m someone who takes a while to wind down, and these sheets haven’t come out of the corners. The pockets are also deep enough to handle larger beds.”
While we found the Luxome Luxury Sheet Set to be nearly perfect in our testing, there are a couple of things to consider. At $185 for a queen-sized set, these sheets are likely on the pricier side for many shoppers. However, according to Matt, you get your money’s worth with them. Additionally, their customer service is email only, which can be a dealbreaker for folks who prefer a live human answering their questions.

Leave it to Saatva to create a sheet set that’s super luxurious and better for the planet. The Saatva Organic Sateen Sheet Set is silky-soft and made with 100-percent certified organic cotton. According to product tester Sosha Lewis, it is also just as comfortable as the brand advertises. After spending a few nights with these bed sheets, Sosha gave them a score of 4/5 or higher in durability, fit, and temperature regulation.
While Sosha was impressed by the Saatva Organic Sateen Set across the board, she was especially surprised by its durable feel and malleable fit. Sosha awarded the Saatva sheet set a perfect 5/5 in both categories because of its strong elasticity, resistance to pilling and tearing, and deep-pocket construction. Its sateen weave improves its durability by creating a tightly woven structure that holds up well to repeated use and washing while maintaining a soft, lustrous finish.
“I love how these sheets fit my bed,” Sosha said. “I have a 14-inch mattress, and these sheets have stayed firmly in place, even when dealing with my very restless husband. The material seems very durable. After multiple washes, I haven’t noticed any pilling, which leads me to think that these sheets are in it for the long haul.”
Of course, these sheets wouldn’t be on this list if it weren’t for their ability to keep things cool at night. During testing, Sosha loved the feel of the breathable organic cotton and awarded these lightweight yet durable sheets a 4/5 in the cooling category.
“These sheets do an excellent job of keeping my husband and I at a comfortable temperature,” Sosha said. “I think hot, cold, and all temperatures in between will be very happy with these sheets.”
Sosha’s only critique about the Saatva sheet set was that it took a few washes to reach optimum comfort. She noted that it had a strong new bedding smell and wished that it was more ready to go out of the box, especially at $275 for a queen-sized set. However, after a few washes and many nights with the Saatva set, these problems dissipated, the sheets grew more comfortable, and she raised her scores across the board.

Almost half of all American adults sleep on a queen-sized mattress, with the next most popular sizes being a king and California king. When shopping for bigger mattress sizes, it’s essential to find sheet sets with deep pockets for a proper fit. Fortunately, the Brooklinen Luxe Sateen Core Sheet Set delivers on that front while also offering some serious cooling. After using this sheet set for a few months, I gave it a 4/5 or higher in the fit, temperature regulation, and durability categories.
One of the first things I noticed about the Brooklinen sateen sheets was their durability and stretchiness. The Luxe Sateen Core Sheet Set felt thin and lightweight without being cheap. These sheets have also held up well after a few washes, which tells me that their sateen weave contributes to their resilience and ability to withstand frequent laundering and everyday wear.
While not as dense and sturdy as other sheet sets at this price point, I don’t think the Brooklinen set would wear out quickly or tear easily, which is why I gave them a 4/5 in the durability category.
I also gave these sheets a perfect 5/5 for their fit because they were able to fit around my wide mattress without any hassle. I sleep on the Titan Plus Elite mattress, which is quite tall at 14.5 inches thick. I loved that these sheets fit around the entire bed with some wiggle room to spare.
Most importantly, the Brooklinen Luxe Sateen Sheet Set sleeps comfortably cool. These sheets are very lightweight and breathable, making them excellent for hot sleepers like myself. Since adding these into my sheet rotation, I have fewer sweaty and sleepless nights. I gave these a strong 4/5 in the cooling category.
My only complaint about these sheets is that they are a bit pricey at $189 before any promotions for a queen-sized set. Although they’re relatively simple in design, these sheets are durable and comfortable. I have no trouble recommending these to sleepers who want to treat themselves to something premium yet lightweight.

Bamboo bed sheets are popular because they offer natural breathability and moisture-wicking properties, keeping hot sleepers cool all night. The Cozy Earth Bamboo Sheet Set lives up to the hype, delivering coolness, comfort, and durability. They also happen to be tester Sosha Lewis’s favorite bed sheets. During testing, Sosha rated this Cozy Earth sheet set 4.5/5 or higher in temperature regulation, durability, and fit.
While testing the Cozy Earth Bamboo Sheet Set, Sosha appreciated its lightweight construction. She described the bamboo material as very breathable and comfortable and gave it a near-perfect 4.5/5 in the cooling category.
“There is definitely a distinct cooling effect that makes my sleep experience much better,” Sosha said. “The material is cool to the touch and feels airy.”
Sosha also gave the Cozy Earth bamboo sheets a perfect 5/5 for durability and fit. She was pleased to see how well the sheets held up after numerous washes, noting that there was no pilling or fading.
Sosha also commended the Cozy Earth sheet set’s ability to stay perfectly in place through her husband’s constant tossing and turning.
“My husband is a super restless combination sleeper, meaning most sheets look like they have been to war after he has gone a couple of rounds with them,” Sosha said. “However, these stay securely on the bed. We have a 14-inch bed, and they have never popped off at the corners.”
Despite the Cozy Earth Bamboo Sheet Set being Sosha’s favorite sheet set of all time (her words, not ours), she couldn’t justify giving it a perfect 5/5 across the board due to its steep price tag. At $472 for a queen-sized set before discounts, we find it hard to recommend these sheets to budget shoppers. Some customer reviews also noted a looser fit on mattresses that are lower than 12 inches tall.

Some users may dislike its more traditional cotton-like feel.
Sleep Number is a brand known for its customizable luxury mattresses, and if you’re looking for a similarly elevated sleep experience from head to toe (or bed sheets to bed frame), then the adaptive Sleep Number True Temp Sheet Set might be precisely what you need. The True Temp Sheet Set claims to be the master of climate control, keeping sleepers cool and crisp in the summer and warm and cozy in the winter. But does it deliver? Product tester Livvi DiCicco seemed to think so. After spending numerous nights with the True Temp sheets, she gave them a 4/5 or higher in the temperature regulation, durability, and fit categories.
Livvi DiCicco gave the Sleep Number True Temp Sheet Set a strong 4/5 for temperature regulation, thanks to its noticeably cool feel and airy, breathable build.
“I loved the initial cool-to-the-touch feel that these sheets have,” Livvi said. “On most nights, I stayed perfectly comfortable, which is impressive because I tend to sleep very hot. I would say these sheets offer a smooth, breathable option that many sleepers should love.”
A luxury sheet set should also be durable enough to stand the test of time and fit perfectly on various mattresses, regardless of height. According to Livvi, the Sleep Number sheets excelled in both categories, earning a perfect 5/5 for fit and durability.
“These sheets are deep pocket and elasticized all around, and they stretch pretty well,” Livvi said. “Most importantly, they come with corner straps that make sure they stay snug on the bed. They fit comfortably on my 14-inch Saatva mattress and show no signs of excessive wear after a few rounds in the laundry.”
As much as she enjoyed sleeping with the Sleep Number True Temp Sheet Set, Livvi offered a couple of critiques. She felt that the True Temp’s $209 price tag for a queen-sized set was just a little high for what it had to offer. She also noted that they feel more like cotton and linen, so folks looking for that silky-smooth texture may want to look elsewhere.

If your child struggles to fall asleep because they’re too hot, it might be time to rethink their bedtime routine. Kids are often active right up until lights out, which can raise their body temperature and interfere with their sleep. Winding down playtime earlier in the evening and switching to breathable, cooling sheets designed for kids can help little ones sleep soundly through the night.
Nest Bedding’s sheet set for kids features Tencel, a soft, breathable fabric derived from eucalyptus that helps wick away moisture and regulate temperature for a cooler, more comfortable night’s sleep. Product tester Kate Meier had her son try the Nest Bedding Kids Tencel Sheet Set to determine how well it would work for active children. After a few nights with the Nest sheet set, they agreed that it excelled across multiple fronts and awarded it a 4/5 or higher in temperature regulation, durability, and fit.
Kate and her son were impressed with the Nest sheet set’s ability to keep things cool at night. She confirmed that the Tencel sheets did a better job of cooling than some of the other cotton sheets she has in her house and gave it a 4/5 for temperature regulation.
“Tencel Lyocell sheets are naturally cooling, and these are no different,” Kate said. “They are breathable and super soft and cool much better than your run-of-the-mill cotton sheets.”
Kate was also super impressed with the Nest sheet set’s ability to withstand numerous washes, tossing and turning, and nighttime dance parties. She gave it a perfect 5/5 in our durability and fit categories.
“My son has a full-sized bed, and the full-sized sheets fit very well,” Kate said. “He dances all over his bed all night long. He kicks and rolls and sometimes ends up upside-down and these sheets don’t budge or break!”
Kate’s only complaint about the Nest Bedding Kids Tencel Sheet Set was that it wasn’t quite as cool to the touch as other Tencel sheets she’s tried. However, for a kid’s sheet, it still offered a noticeable upgrade in softness and breathability compared to standard cotton options.
Crafted from 100% long-staple Egyptian cotton, these percale sheets offer a crisp, breathable feel, ideal for hot sleepers seeking lightweight comfort.
Lightweight and breathable, perfect for warm climates.
Crisp percale weave offers a cool, hotel-like feel.
Durable construction withstands frequent washing.
Cons
Higher price point compared to some competitors.
Limited color options available.
The mark of a truly remarkable cooling sheet set is its ability to keep you comfortable in the absence of air conditioning. Product tester Cait Giddings braved the harsh summer nights over a week-long power outage in Austin, Texas, armed only with an unreasonably large box fan and the Parachute Home Percale Sheet Set, to make an informed recommendation regarding the sheets’ real-world cooling performance. She was pleased to report that they were the real deal and gave them a perfect 5/5 for fit, durability, and temperature regulation.
With extreme heat wearing on your nerves, the last thing you want is a set of cooling sheets that are unwieldy or difficult to put on your bed. Fortunately for Cait, the Parachute sheet set was super easy to put on her queen-sized mattress, leading her to give it a perfect 5/5 in the fit category.
“The sheets fit our queen bed perfectly, but what stood out about their fit is how the pillowcases were designed,” Cait said. “Each pillowcase wrapped entirely around the pillow with the opening in the middle and the pillow tightly stuffed inside, so there are no wrinkles and risk of the pillowcase sliding off at the ends.”
Cait also gave the Parachute cotton percale sheets another 5/5 for durability because of their ability to maintain their integrity through sweat, tears, and numerous spin cycles in the brutal Texas summer. Percale is a type of cotton weave that uses a simple one-over-one-under pattern to create a tight, uniform texture. This structure gives the sheets a smooth, crisp finish and enhances their durability.
However, the Parachute Home Percale Sheet Set’s crown jewel is its cooling capability. Cait gave them a perfect 5/5 for temperature regulation because they managed to stay crisp, light, and airy despite a heat index of over 105 degrees.
“The temperature inside the house was over 90 degrees one night, so I slept directly on top of the flat sheet,” Cait said. “These glorious sheets and a giant box fan pointed directly at my torso were the only thing protecting my sanity. It’s nice to have that little bit of luxury in your life in a weather emergency.”
The only downside, according to Cait? Price. While she loved these sheets and found them to be of exceptional quality, she also thought they were very pricey at $269 for a queen-sized set. That said, if they’re in your budget, you won’t be disappointed.
Tencel sheets are made from a naturally derived fabric that helps wick away moisture and regulate temperature for a cooler night’s sleep. The Sijo AiryWeight Tencel Sheet Set is available on Amazon and outperforms many of its competitors on the shopping platform. Product tester Riley Otis was thoroughly impressed by the Sijo sheet set’s cooling abilities and durable construction. She gave it a 4/5 or higher in the durability, fit, and temperature regulation categories.
After a quick look at its packaging, Riley was impressed by the materials found in the Sijo AiryWeight Tencel Sheet Set. She gave it a strong 4/5 for durability because of its sturdy Eucalyptus and Lyocell construction and PEFC certification.
“The quality of the materials in these sheets is exceptional,” Riley said. “The construction feels high-quality, and I don’t think they’re likely to rip or pill over time.”
Riley also loved the Sijo set’s deep pockets, which made fitting the sheets onto the bed quick and effortless. She gave it a near-perfect 4.5/5 in the fit category because it could easily fit around a mattress up to 16 inches thick.
“The sheets fit perfectly on my queen-size mattress,” Riley said. “I even think people with mattresses taller than 16 inches would find these sheets secure. The sheets have yet to come off the corners, even though I move around a lot in my sleep.”
Most importantly, though, Riley found the Sijo was the perfect recipe for a cool night’s sleep, awarding it a perfect 5/5 in the temperature regulation category.
“Not only were the sheets cool to the touch, they felt super lightweight, airy, and breathable,” Riley said. “I found great temperature regulation throughout the entire night and never felt like I was overheating. I would recommend it to hot sleepers.”
The only annoyance that Riley pointed out was how wrinkly these sheets were after running through the washer. After washing the sheets, she noticed they wrinkled very easily despite being fresh from the dryer. She said it was impossible to get the sheet set to lie smooth and flat. However, this shouldn’t be a problem for most folks since the sheets are tucked away under the comforter anyway.

If you didn’t see what you were looking for in the list above, consider taking a look at some of these other cooling sheets that almost made the cut.
Silk & Snow Egyptian Cotton Bed Sheets – These sheets sleep relatively cool and have a smooth, lightweight texture that’s pleasant in warm weather. However, our tester Livvi DiCicco found herself frustrated with the fit, noting that the corners had a tendency to slip off during the night. While the fabric quality was high, her overall experience suffered due to sizing issues.
Threshold Performance 400 Thread CountSheet Set – At only $50, these sheets are a budget-friendly pick that offer impressive value for the price. Product tester Kate Meier appreciated their durable construction and lightweight feel. However, they couldn’t quite compete with more specialized cooling bedding when it came to regulating temperature on particularly hot nights.
How We Tested These Cooling Sheets
Our product testers got hands-on with every one of these cooling sheets to identify how they work and who they should work best for. We didn’t just go by how cool they felt out of the package. Instead, we slept on them, washed them numerous times, and tested them in various weather conditions to grade their real-world performance. Our testing criteria included how well each set regulated temperature, how they held up to wear and washing, and how securely they fit on different mattress types.
Temperature Regulation
Most importantly, a set of cooling sheets should help regulate body temperature throughout the night. Hot sleepers often struggle with overheating, night sweats, and disrupted sleep, so we paid close attention to how well each sheet set stayed cool to the touch and helped wick away moisture.
During testing, we evaluated how each sheet felt after a night of sleep, particularly on warmer nights. We also looked for materials that didn’t trap heat, even when layered with a comforter or blanket.
Durability
Cooling sheets should be able to handle frequent washes, especially for hot sleepers who tend to sweat through their bedding. That’s why durability was a key factor in our testing process. Our testers washed each set multiple times to assess how well the fabric stayed together. We looked for signs of pilling, fraying, or shrinkage. Our top picks proved they could handle repeated laundering without compromising on comfort or performance.
Fit
A well-fitting sheet can make the difference between a restful night and a frustrating one. If a sheet pops off the corners or bunches up in the middle of the night, it defeats the purpose (especially for restless sleepers). Our product testers sleep on a variety of mattresses, including thick models with mattress toppers and beds with cooling comforters, which enabled us to evaluate how well they stayed in place on different sleep surfaces.
We recommended deep-pocket designs with generously sized corners and elastic edges that could securely wrap around layered cooling mattresses without slipping off.
What Else Is Important When Buying Cooling Sheets?
Beyond cooling, durability, and fit, there are a few other characteristics to consider before investing in a set of bed sheets. Customer reviews, care instructions, materials, and certifications are details that can help you determine if a sheet set will meet your long-term needs. Here’s what else to keep in mind while shopping.
Customer Reviews
Customer reviews offer valuable insight into how cooling sheets perform in everyday use. Keep an eye out for recurring themes in customer reviews. If you notice that reviews for a sheet set frequently mention that they stayed cool through hot nights and held up well after multiple washes, those sheets are likely a safe bet.
Care Instructions
How you care for your sheets can influence their cooling performance and longevity. Materials like bamboo and Tencel are naturally delicate and may require gentle washing, lower heat settings, or line drying to prevent damage.
Before buying, it’s worth checking the manufacturer’s recommended care instructions to ensure they fit into your routine. For instance, if you frequently wash sheets due to night sweats, opt for low-maintenance options that are compatible with your washer and dryer.
Certifications
Certifications can assure you that your sheets meet higher standards for safety, sustainability, or ethical production. While not required by law, these labels can help you make more informed choices if you’re concerned about chemical treatments or environmental impact.
Common certifications to look for include OEKO-TEX Standard 100, GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard), FSC (Forest Stewardship Council), and CertiPUR-US. Sheet sets with one or more of these certifications can be a good choice for those prioritizing health, sustainability, or ethical sourcing.
Materials
The fabric itself plays a significant role in how well cooling sheets perform. Natural and semi-synthetic fibers such as Tencel, bamboo viscose, and linen are all popular choices for hot sleepers. These materials are typically breathable, moisture-wicking, and cool to the touch.
For example, Tencel stands out for its silky texture and eco-friendly production process. Fabrics derived from bamboo are also known for being naturally antibacterial and hypoallergenic, making them ideal for folks with sensitive skin.
Additionally, higher thread counts, especially when paired with quality materials, can contribute to better durability without necessarily sacrificing breathability. Knowing what materials work best for your preferences can help you narrow down the perfect set more easily.
As Dr. Raj explains, “When shopping for bedding, it’s helpful to consider the type of fabric, thread count, and weave. Natural fabrics, like cotton and linen, tend to be more comfortable and breathable than synthetic materials, while a higher thread count generally means that the fabric is softer and more durable.”
