As a combination sleeper, I love hybrid mattresses, as they combine foam and innerspring coils to offer more versatility for those of us who just can’t commit to one sleeping position throughout the night. Sleepers like me should consider the Helix Midnight Luxe, a luxury hybrid mattress from Helix’s more high-end mattress collection.
I’ve spent the past few years reviewing the oft-overlooked complexities of mattresses and sleep products to help shoppers get a straightforward understanding of the best mattress to fit their specific needs. Mattress Clarity shares this mission and has reviewed over 500 beds and helped more than 40,000 people find the right new mattress for their homes. Our medically backed, non-biased testing and reviews are always expert-verified by our on-site team of Certified Sleep Science Coaches, with further oversight from our chief medical advisor, Dr. Raj Dasgupta, MD, FACP, FCCP, FAASM.
When we tested the Helix Midnight Luxe, it demonstrated great temperature regulation and quality airflow, earning a 4.5/5 for overall cooling. Additionally, despite having innerspring coils, the bed had great motion isolation (4/5), which, in addition to its near-perfect edge support (4.8/5) and excellent responsiveness (4/5), makes the bed a top candidate for couples seeking a shared bed for their home.
With all that said, in this Helix mattress review, I’ll break down everything you need to know about the Midnight Luxe to help you determine if it’s the right choice for you.
The Helix Midnight Luxe is a premium medium-firm mattress that offers a hotel-like feel for a relatively affordable price. Its zoned support and supportive coil layers make it a great option for back sleepers. The only element in which it scored below average was responsiveness, so if you like a super bouncy bed or you’re a restless combination sleeper, consider another model.
Helix Midnight Luxe Mattress Performance: My Overall Rating
Our team at Mattress Clarity put the Helix Midnight Luxe through our rigorous testing process to find out what sleepers it works best for. Our goal was to get a firm understanding of the bed’s construction and performance and to determine how well it can help support a good night’s sleep. The Midnight Luxe by Helix performed quite well across the board in our tests, earning an overall 4.5/5 rating.
Likely in part due to its hybrid construction and cooling features, the Helix Midnight Luxe scored a 4.5/5 for its ability to keep hot sleepers cool. Furthermore, the mattress earned notably high marks for its edge support (4.8/5) and pressure relief (4.2/5), making it an excellent choice for people with mobility issues or who struggle with chronic joint and back pain.
Additionally, with regard to the customer experience, we gave the Midnight Luxe a 4.25/5. Testers found that unboxing it was easy upon delivery, and off-gassing was minimal. Helix also offers a generous lifetime warranty, though its 100-night sleep trial is a bit less generous than those of similar luxury mattresses.

I Recommend the Helix Midnight Luxe For…
- Back sleepers – The firm spinal alignment and cushioning offered by the Midnight Luxe should provide ample comfort and support for most back sleepers.
- Seniors and people with mobility issues – The sturdy edges on the Luxe should make it easier for people to get in and out of bed.
- Hot sleepers – The Luxe’s hybrid construction, especially with its cooling cover, should help hot sleepers find relief and a temperature-friendly sleeping surface.
- Side sleepers – Side sleepers of all shapes and sizes should potentially find the support they need on the Midnight Luxe due to its accessible firmness and the cushioning support of its comfort layers.

I Don’t Recommend the Helix Midnight Luxe For…
- Sexually active couples – The Midnight Luxe demonstrated decent but not great responsiveness, which may frustrate some couples when moving around on the bed.
- Shoppers on a budget – The Luxe is a bit pricey ($2,399 for a queen before any discounts), and optional features such as its GlacioTex cooling cover bring an additional fee.
- Restless sleepers – People who toss and turn in the night, especially those who share the bed, may prefer a bed with better motion isolation, such as an all-foam mattress.
How Firm Is the Helix Midnight Luxe Mattress?

Mattress firmness should reflect your sleeping patterns. For example, combination sleepers may prefer the industry-standard medium-firmness of 6.5/10 firmness, as it is seen as the most accessible firmness to different types of sleepers. At Mattress Clarity, we use a firmness scale that ranges from 1 to 10, with one being the softest and 10 being rock hard.
The Helix Midnight Luxe has a 6/10 firmness, which is a little softer than the 6.5/10 industry standard for a medium-firm feel. This softer firmness, combined with the Midnight Luxe’s firm innerspring layer, makes the mattress a better option for various side sleepers, especially average-weight side sleepers. Back sleepers should also appreciate this firmness level, as the Luxe’s pocketed coils generate targeted support upward through the bed’s comfort layers to help maintain spinal alignment. However, most stomach sleepers, especially heavier stomach sleepers, will likely find the Luxe too soft and prefer a firmer mattress.

How Does the Helix Midnight Luxe Feel for Different Body Types and Sleeping Positions?
The Helix Midnight Luxe has a 6/10 firmness, which is just barely under the 6.5/10 industry average for medium-firm. However, due to the hybrid design, you can likely expect slightly firmer support than an all-foam mattress due to its pocketed coil support layer maintaining targeted firmness throughout the mattress. Furthermore, the hybrid design adds more versatility to the mattress, making it a good choice for combination sleepers who can’t choose between an innerspring or memory foam mattress.
This versatility was made clearer after we had testers of different body types try the Helix Midnight Luxe and all reported generally quality support and spinal alignment, especially when sleeping on their sides.
Sleeper Weight | Side Sleepers | Back Sleepers | Stomach Sleepers |
Light (under 130 lbs) | Good | Excellent | Good |
Average (130-230 lbs) | Excellent | Excellent | Excellent |
Heavy (over 230 lbs) | Excellent | Good | Unpleasant |
Heavyweight Tester – over 230 lbs
Our heavyweight tester, Caine Wilkes, tried resting on his side on the Luxe, and said, “I usually sleep on my side, and I would recommend this for side sleepers in my weight category. The plush top feels really nice and comfortable, while the bottom layers are more supportive.” He was less enthused when he switched to his back but still not disappointed. “My body feels supported because of the contouring, but I need a firmer mattress for my lower half,” he said.
Average-Weight Tester – 130 to 230 lbs
Livvi Dicicco, our average-weight tester who is a combination sleeper, tried resting on the Helix Midnight Luxe in all positions. She concluded her test saying, “It feels great. My favorite part about this mattress is that it fills in your lower back. The quilted top and memory foam layers are plush, but the pocketed coils underneath offer great support for my back. My body feels very aligned overall.”
Lightweight Tester – Under 130 lbs
Our lightweight tester, Bojana Galic, tried out the Midnight Luxe on her side and back. When she rested on her side, she said, “I don’t feel any pressure anywhere. My hips feel cradled nicely.” When she switched to her back, she was also quite comfortable and noticed plenty of pressure relief, saying, “My back has a lot of arch and the bed is supporting it nicely. I don’t have any noticeable pressure anywhere.”
Helix Midnight Luxe In-Depth Test Results
Pressure Relief
We evaluate a bed’s ability to relieve pressure by how well it can prevent the buildup of inflammation in your body when you rest. As stated by Dr. Raj Dasgupta, “If you’re not getting enough pressure relief as you sleep, it can lead to disrupted sleep and increased pain or discomfort.” For this reason we take pressure relief seriously when evaluating a bed’s performance and judging if it’s a good choice for restorative sleep.
To determine a bed’s pressure relief score, we use both the personal experiences of our testers, who vary in weight and size, and objective analysis from a specialized pressure mat that detects low and high pressure buildup when each tester is resting on a mattress. Overall, the Helix Midnight Luxe received a 4.17/5 score for pressure relief, which I’ll explain below.

Our lightweight tester, Bojana Galic, was first to try the Midnight Luxe on her side and back. “It feels comfortable and stable,” Bojana said. “I don’t feel any pressure points anywhere. My hips feel cradled nicely.” On her back, the pressure mat measured a 14.61 PSI, which is considered quite good (15.1 is average for back sleepers). “My back has a lot of arch and the bed is supporting it nicely,” Bojana said. “I don’t have any noticeable pressure anywhere.” She gave both sleeping positions a 4/5 for pressure relief.
Our average-weight tester, Livvi Dicicco, was next to test out the Midnight Luxe. She had a slightly high PSI reading on her side of 19.3, but said, “I feel a little more pressure in my shoulders and a little in my hips, but I could still sleep in this position without any pain.” When she tried the bed on her back, the pressure mat measured an excellent 13.59 reading, with Livvi adding, “The quilted top is plush, but the coils underneath offer great support for my back. My body feels very aligned overall.” Livvi gave the Luxe a 4/5 for side sleeping and a 5/5 for back sleeping.
Finally, our heavier tester, Caine Wilkes, conducted the same tests. On his side, the pressure map reported a 25.99 reading, which is high but also reflects his heavier weight. Despite the reading, Caine was quite comfortable and gave the side-sleeping position a 5/5. “I can feel this mattress contouring me,” he said. “It doesn’t feel too bad on my side, but I feel a little pressure on my shoulder. I feel pretty aligned overall and well supported.” On his back, the mat reported a high PSI of 20.18, and Caine was less enthusiastic. “I feel like my hips are sinking in too much, but they aren’t terrible,” he said. “I feel a little pressure on my lower back because of this sinkage. My body feels supported because of the contouring, but I need more firmness for my lower body.” He gave the Midnight Luxe a 3/5 for back sleeping.
Edge Support
Edge support correlates to how sturdy and supportive a bed’s edges are when sitting on them or resting on them. This is an important thing to consider if you watch TV from bed, struggle to get in and out of bed, or share a bed with a partner and want to spread out. Edge support can also reflect a bed’s construction quality and its lifespan, according to Dr. Raj Dasgupta, who says, “Durable mattresses usually always have good edge support.” So, considering all this, edge support is something we put to the test.
Our tester Livvi DiCicco conducted a weighted edge support test in which she placed weighted plates on the bed’s edges to reflect various-sized sleepers and then measured the sinkage from the Midnight Luxe’s original 13.5-inch height. She found only one to two inches of sinkage in every weight test and scored the test a perfect 5/5.

Livvi then tried sitting on the edge of the bed and said, “Getting in and out was easy. I didn’t feel like I was going to slide off at any point.” She then tried resting up on the edges in different sleeping positions. She described it, saying, “Switching positions was also fairly easy; I was only slightly impeded by the contours of the pillow top.”
She scored sitting on the bed’s edges with a 4/5, and resting on them with a 5/5. She did note that the longer edges (on the right and left side of the bed) seemed more durable than the shorter edges. “The lengthwise edges are definitely better than the shorter edges of the bed,” she said. Despite the quality edge support, I would say that the noticeably different edge strength Livvi found could potentially be a sign of a lack of durability in the long term, despite Helix claiming that the Midnight Luxe has full perimeter reinforcement.
Overall, the Helix Midnight Luxe scored a 4.8/5 for its edge support, which is quite excellent, and unsurprising to me considering its hybrid construction.
Cooling
If you’re like me and struggle to fall asleep when you feel too warm, you’re going to want to find a mattress with proper cooling. A mattress with high-quality airflow and cooling offers a breathable sleeping surface and dissipates body heat rather than traps it. The Helix Midnight Luxe demonstrated great cooling when we tested it, receiving a 4.5/5 for its ability to offer a sleep-friendly temperature.
We used a thermal gun to get a grasp on the Midnight Luxe’s cooling features. For this test, we recorded the bed’s standing core temperature, and then we had one of our testers rest on it for seven minutes before rerecording the bed’s temperature to see if the bed dispersed any of the tester’s body heat. Notably, a temperature increase of fewer than 10 degrees is considered excellent, a 10- to 15-degree increase is considered good, and a 15-degree increase and above is considered unpleasant.
Our tester Livvi DiCicco conducted this test and found a starting temperature of 70.6 degrees Fahrenheit and a final temperature of 75 degrees after resting on it. This less-than-five-degree increase demonstrated that the Midnight Luxe had excellent cooling ability.
Notably, we did test the Midnight Luxe with its proprietary GlacioTex cooling cover that comes at an additional cost ($187), but these results should still put the Helix Midnight Luxe on a hot sleeper‘s radar. Livvi further described her subjective experience during the test and why she scored the Luxe as she did. “I felt like the mattress felt pretty cool around my neck where it was against the mattress,” she said. “I didn’t feel particularly warm, and I think that the low 4.4-degree increase is pretty indicative of its great cooling score. I’d say the cover is cool-to-the-touch, but not overly so. I feel like most hot sleepers are going to be comfortable sleeping on this mattress.”
Motion Isolation
According to Dr. Raj Dasgupta, “Motion isolation is key for couples because it reduces the disturbances caused by one partner’s movements, helping the other sleep more soundly. This is particularly helpful for light sleepers, people who move around a lot during the night, and those who share their bed with kids or pets. A mattress with good motion isolation contributes to better overall sleep quality.” Considering this, we use two tests to assess a bed’s ability to prevent disruptive motion transfer at its core.

Our first test we do is called a ripple test. This is where we place a glass of water on the bed and have someone get in and out of bed, as well as change sleeping positions next to it. Then our tester Livvi DiCicco looks at how the water reacts to their movements. When doing this with the Midnight Luxe, Livvi described getting out of bed next to the glass, saying, “The water glass was difficult to place on the surface because of the puffiness of the pillow top. So, there was some wobbling simply caused by the imbalance. Even despite this, though, I felt like it was pretty stable getting in and out of bed.” When she rested next to it and changed sleeping positions, she said, “Switching positions didn’t cause much of a disturbance either. Even pressing down near the glass didn’t cause it to spill. There was definitely some sloshing, so I wouldn’t say it was perfect, but probably pretty close to it.” She gave the ripple test an overall 4.5/5.
After this, we did a couple’s motion test, where two of our testers rested next to each other and assessed how much they were affected by the other’s movements. Our tester, Livvi, explained the results, saying, “I could feel Cait’s movements as she switched positions. It was slightly muffled, but not enough for me to say it’s seamless. However, I’m a notoriously slight sleeper.” She felt the coils may have impacted this experience, and gave the test a 3/5 score, which resulted in the 4/5 score overall.
While the Helix Midnight Luxe fared pretty well during these tests with a 4/5 score, super light sleepers or couples who really struggle to share the bed may still want to seek a mattress with better motion isolation, such as an all-foam mattress.
Response
Quality responsiveness reflects how well a bed can bounce back to its original shape after someone moves or sleeps on it. I always stress the importance of responsiveness as a combination sleeper myself, as it reflects how easily I can switch positions on my bed while sleeping and still expect consistent support following my movements. The Helix Midnight Luxe’s hybrid design and use of coils demonstrated decent responsiveness, with our tester Livvi giving the bed a 4/5 for it despite some reservations.

First off, Livvi tried a switch test in which she changed sleeping positions to assess how well the bed responded to her movements with reliable support. She concluded the test by saying, “The bed has some bounce, but the pillow top is super doughy. This makes it harder to roll over when switching from your stomach to your side or back. But I don’t think most typical combination sleepers will notice anything once they’re asleep.” She also added that “The bed is technically bouncy, even though it’s not particularly responsive.”

Livvi then tried a second responsiveness test, in which we place a kettlebell on the mattress and then remove it to see how long it takes for the mattress to bounce back to its original shape. With this test, under one second is considered good, two to three seconds is deemed okay, and over three seconds is potentially problematic. Livvi recorded a 3.9-second bounce-back time for the Midnight Luxe with a stopwatch, which was quite disappointing for a luxury hybrid mattress, and resulted in a very low 1/5 for the test.
Despite having good bounce, which contributed to Livvi’s final rating, combination sleepers or sexually active people who want a more responsive bed that is easy to move around on may want to consider a latex or innerspring mattress, as they typically offer superior responsiveness.
Sinkage: Moderate
I use the term sinkage here to refer to how deeply a person sinks into the mattress’s surface. While some sinkage can be great, as in the cradling feel of memory foam, sinking too deeply into a mattress can potentially disrupt spinal support. For example, side sleepers can benefit from some healthy sinkage to alleviate the pressure exertion from one side of their body to the other. In contrast, the same amount of sinkage could result in a stomach sleeper waking up with intense lower back pain.

We placed a 44-pound kettlebell on the Helix Midnight Luxe and recorded four inches of sinkage, which would be considered moderate. Depending on one’s weight, this amount of sinkage will likely offer a great amount of comfort to most side and back sleepers. Our average-weight tester Livvi, who did the kettlebell test, also rested on the bed and described her experience sinking into the Midnight Luxe. “Lying down on my side is usually where I have the most trouble, but I didn’t notice too much sinkage,” she said. “On my back and stomach, I felt pretty secure. I was able to throw one leg over the side (how I normally sleep) without feeling too much slippage. Switching positions was also fairly easy.”
Bounce: Moderate
Bouncy beds, like latex or innerspring mattresses, are probably the best beds to jump on as a kid. However, as an adult, I’ve come to learn that bounce in a mattress actually correlates with how easy it is to move around on the bed while still being supported. For example, moving around on an all-foam mattress can sometimes feel like quicksand compared to a firmer latex mattress. Furthermore, a bed’s responsiveness reflects the quality of bounce you should expect from a mattress, with the Helix Midnight Luxe receiving a 4/5 for it.
We tested the bounce of the Midnight Luxe by dropping a 15-pound medicine ball onto it from a six-foot ladder and measuring how high the ball bounced back up. Our tester Livvi measured a 17-inch rebound from the medicine ball, which I’d call pretty average. Livvi also said after the test, “The bed has some bounce, but the pillow top is super doughy. This makes it harder to roll over when switching from your stomach to your side or back.”
Noise
Despite the Midnight Luxe having coils, which typically are responsible for the creaky sound associated with old mattresses, our testers found the mattress to be virtually silent upon arrival. This may change with time, but our noise evaluation test resulted in a full five stars for the category. Our tester Livvi, who judged the noise output of the Midnight Luxe, said, “I haven’t noticed any noise throughout our testing. Nothing from the pillow top or coils. I’d worry about the coils starting to creak over time, but right now, silent as the grave.”
Sex
I combine a bed’s edge support, cooling, and responsiveness scores to estimate the type of foundation for sex a mattress can offer couples. The Helix Midnight Luxe got a 4.43 as a result. I always choose these three categories to judge the potential quality of sex for pretty simple reasons: Sexually active people likely want a bed with full-width sturdy support, quality cooling that helps disperse body heat, and a surface that is easy to move around on while still getting responsive support. So, while experiences may vary, I think couples should get what they need with the Midnight Luxe.
Adjustable Base Compatibility
The Helix Midnight Luxe is fully compatible with an adjustable base. When trying it out, our tester Livvi DiCicco scored the experience a 5/5. She tried it out with another tester and described the experience. “With two people on the mattress, it conforms to the bed frame pretty well,” she said. “I think the bed was a little too far back to begin with, so there’s some gapping at the center, but nothing too noticeable or cause for concern. Lying on the base itself in the zero-gravity and TV positions, it was super comfortable. I’d consider getting this bed and the adjustable base if I had the room.”
Helix Midnight Luxe Customer Experience Scores
In this section, I’ll go through the warranty, trial, and general customer experience you can expect from Helix when you buy their Midnight Luxe mattress.
Trial Period
Helix offers a 100-night sleep trial with its Midnight Luxe hybrid bed. Notably, many comparable luxury mattresses offer a 365-night trial rather than 100, so we scored Helix’s trial a 3.5/5.
Warranty
A limited lifetime warranty is included when you purchase the Helix Midnight Luxe. By limited Helix means that after 10 years, compensation or returns for defunct mattresses will be reduced by 50 percent and decrease over time (60 percent after 11 to 15 years, and 75 percent after 25 years of use). Despite this being a generous warranty, due to the fine print and difficulty in getting a full refund, we gave it a 4.5/5 score.
Unboxing and Moving
Our tester Livvi DiCicco received the Midnight Luxe and evaluated the unboxing experience. She gave the experience a 5/5 score, saying, “The mattress came in a box and was tightly wrapped with plastic. For unboxing, the plastic was easy to open. We thought the mattress was easy to handle as we maneuvered it onto the base to fully expand and rise.” I should note that Livvi had help moving the bed into place, so you may want to have an extra set of hands ready to help move the Luxe when it arrives. For context, the queen-size model weighs 120 pounds.

Readiness After Unboxing
According to our tester Livvi, who unboxed the mattress in Mattress Clarity’s testing studio, the mattress was pretty much ready to go, and she gave it a 5/5 score for readiness. “It rose pretty quickly and was fully risen by the time we came to the studio the next morning,” Livvi said.
Off-gassing
Our testers did experience some minimal off-gassing from the Midnight Luxe upon arrival at our studio. We scored the off-gassing of the mattress on arrival at a 4/5. “There was an apparent off-gassing smell when we opened the mattress, but only if your face was close,” Livvi said. “It quickly dissipated to what we consider ‘normal’ for a mattress. Testing the mattress the next day, I didn’t really notice much of a smell on the surface, even when shoving my face into the bed’s surface.”
Helix Midnight Luxe Construction
Here, I’ll go through the materials used in the Helix Midnight Luxe and its construction.
Mattress Height & Weight
The Helix Midnight Luxe is 13.5 inches tall, which is on the taller side of hybrid mattresses (typical hybrid mattress height is between 10 and 14 inches). According to Helix Sleep’s official site, the twin-size model weighs 83 pounds, the queen size 120 pounds, the king size 145 pounds, and the California king 145 pounds.
Materials
The Helix Midnight Luxe is a hybrid mattress, which means it uses both innerspring coils and foam in its construction. The Luxe uses gel-infused memory foam and high-density foams that are all CertiPUR-US and Greenguard Gold certified. Both certifications mean that the foam is manufactured using fewer emissions and is free from more volatile chemicals or metals such as mercury or lead. The mattress is also made in the USA, meeting more rigorous manufacturing regulations. Moreover, the Luxe does not use toxins or fiberglass as a flame retardant, but instead uses a flame retardant made of bamboo fibers. Finally, the Luxe has at least 1,000 individually wrapped 100-percent tempered steel coils in its innerspring layer, delivering support and full perimeter reinforcement.
Layers
Greeting you on the surface is a plush pillow-top cover that is made with eucalyptus fibers to help keep you cool by drawing heat away from the body while still offering a cozy top layer. Underneath this is a gel memory foam that further aids with temperature regulation while enhancing comfort and pressure relief. Then there is a higher-density foam layer that helps to provide firmer cushioning for the upper comfort layers.
At the core is a responsive foam transitional layer that delivers ergonomic support while separating the upper cushioning and comfort layers from the bed’s foundation. The bed’s foundation begins with a layer of at least 1000 tempered steel pocketed coils that generate bounce, stimulate airflow, and are designed to offer zoned lumbar support. Finally, there is a huge base layer of high-density foam that helps create a durable foundation for the bed without compromising comfort on the surface.
How to Try and Buy the Helix Midnight Luxe Mattress
The Helix Midnight Luxe can be easily purchased on Helix Sleep’s official website. Additionally, Helix has its Midnight Luxe model in mattress stores and brick-and-mortar retailers across the United States. You can find out if there is a Helix showroom near you on the store locator section of its official site.

Helix Midnight Luxe vs. Helix Midnight

The Helix Midnight is the cheaper version of the Midnight Luxe and costs $999 for a queen. The Midnight is two inches shorter than the Midnight Luxe and has a standard knit cover rather than the cooling Tencel cover on the upgraded Luxe. They both have a 6/10 firmness, but the taller build and plush pillow top on the Midnight Luxe will likely feel softer than the original Midnight version while still delivering the same, if not more, support.
Notably, as it relates to the lifespan of the bed, the Midnight Luxe has full perimeter reinforcement. In contrast, the original Midnight has only the long edges of the bed fully reinforced, meaning you may get more use for longer out of the Midnight Luxe and experience better edge support, especially at the foot of the bed. The Luxe also has zoned lumbar support in its coiled layer, unlike the Midnight, which may make the Luxe a better choice for sleepers with back pain, despite the higher price tag.
Helix Midnight Luxe vs. Tempur-Pedic Tempur-Cloud

The Tempur-Cloud is also a higher-end hybrid mattress that is similarly priced ($1,999 for a queen before any discounts). The Tempur-Cloud is just a tad firmer at 6.5/10 firmness, compared to the Midnight Luxe’s 6/10 firmness. Both offer comparable pressure relief and spinal support due to the similar construction; however, after we tested both mattresses, we found the Midnight Luxe offered sleepers better temperature regulation, which may make the Luxe a better choice for hot sleepers.
A major difference is the customer experience offered by the Tempur-Cloud. The Tempur-Cloud only offers a 10-year warranty and 90-day trial compared to the Midnight Luxe’s limited lifetime warranty and 100-night trial. I don’t think either mattress is for shoppers on a strict budget, but hot sleepers or wary shoppers who appreciate a generous warranty and trial will likely prefer the Midnight Luxe.
Helix Midnight Luxe vs. Saatva Classic

The Saatva Classic is also a high-quality luxury hybrid mattress. The Saatva Classic is potentially more hypoallergenic and eco-friendly than the Midnight Luxe because it uses organic cotton in its cover and recycled coils in its innerspring layers. Moreover, the Saatva has two layers of coils that offer better edge support and make it more responsive and durable than the Midnight Luxe. Furthermore, the Saatva Classic offers two optional heights and three different firmness options, making it a more customizable choice.
Another major difference when we tested both beds was the Saatva Classic’s motion isolation abilities. The Midnight Luxe demonstrated much better motion isolation than the Saatva Classic, likely due to the heftier innerspring design in the Classic’s construction. Overall, I would consider the Saatva Classic a likely better choice—they are similarly priced, and in many ways, the Classic outperformed the Midnight Luxe in our testing. However, couples may prefer the better motion isolation demonstrated by the Midnight Luxe.
