DreamCloud is known for its hybrid mattresses, which deliver a lot of luxury for a surprisingly affordable price tag. But the brand’s hybrid models are also available without innerspring coils for those who prefer the feel of an all-foam mattress. The DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam Mattress is one such mattress—as the foam counterpart of the bestselling DreamCloud Premier Hybrid Mattress, it shares the hybrid’s 13-inch height; however, it’s made with four foam layers that promise outstanding pressure relief, spinal alignment, and support. But does it deliver?
Mattress Clarity’s team of sleep experts has tested over 500 mattresses and sleep products, and we helped 5,919 people buy a new bed in 2024 alone. To ensure all of our mattress reviews are accurate from a medical perspective, we also enlist the help of Dr. Raj Dasgupta, MD, FACP, FCCP, FAASM. In this mattress review, we used our trusted methodology to assess the DreamCloud Premier and determine its strengths and weaknesses for different sleep needs.
Right off the bat, we appreciated the Premier’s high-quality materials and cushioning Euro top, particularly given the pricing. We found it a little firmer than average, making it well-suited to back and stomach sleepers specifically—especially those who aren’t looking to spend thousands of dollars on a new bed. Does that mean the DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam Mattress is the bed of your dreams? Below, we share the good and the bad so you can make the most informed decision possible and find the best mattress for you.
The DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam is a 13-inch-high foam bed that boasts supreme motion isolation, edge support, and pressure relief. It’s an affordable, slightly firm model that should be great for couples. However, don’t expect a ton of bounce or cooling.
DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam Mattress Performance: My Overall Rating
Our team of sleep experts put the DreamCloud Premier through a series of tests designed to assess its performance in all the categories that count for a restful night’s sleep. Overall, the mattress earned a rating of 4.9 out of 5, with above-average scores in pressure relief, edge support, motion isolation, and response. It fell a little flat in its cooling ability, but that’s pretty typical of all-foam beds.

I Recommend the DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam For…
- Back sleepers – The mattress strikes a great balance of contouring and support, with a soft foam comfort layer that fills in the lumbar region but plenty of support to maintain spinal alignment.
- Stomach sleepers – These sleepers need a mattress that keeps the hips properly elevated, and the DreamCloud Premier does the trick. It’s firm enough to lift with just enough sinkage to keep the upper body comfortably cushioned.
- Couples who need high motion isolation – The foam layers do a great job of dampening motion transfer in the mattress, which is ideal if you share the bed with a restless partner.

I Don’t Recommend the DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam For…
- Hot sleepers – The DreamCloud Premier isn’t the worst offender, especially given its all-foam construction, but very hot sleepers may still find it sleeps too warm.
- Fans of high-bounce mattresses – While the mattress is firm and lacks the deep sinkage that can make you feel stuck, it doesn’t have much bounce.

How Firm Is the DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam Mattress?

The DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam is a firm mattress, especially for a memory foam bed, and we’ve already mentioned that it’s a good choice for most back and stomach sleepers. Lightweight stomach sleepers may find it veers too firm, and some heavyweight sleepers may prefer a hybrid mattress that’s specifically designed to support more weight.
Keep in mind that firmness is a subjective rating, and people with more weight tend to find mattresses have a softer feel than is advertised. We typically rank firmness on a firmness scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being very soft and 10 being very firm. Check out the Mattress Clarity firmness guide for more information here.
Mattress Clarity tester Sosha Lewis, who falls into the average-weight category, found the DreamCloud Premier a little north of medium-firm (a 6.5 on the firmness scale) and rated it a 7 for back, side, and stomach sleeping. She had great things to say about the Premier when resting on her back, but had small concerns for dedicated side sleepers. She said her hip dipped a little further than she was expecting, which could become uncomfortable if you spend the entire night on your side.

How Does the DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam Feel for Different Body Types and Sleeping Positions?
Your body weight and preferred sleeping position can affect how a mattress feels. That’s why the same mattress can feel really different to a lightweight stomach sleeper than it does to a heavyweight side sleeper. We had testers in different weight classes assess the DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam to see how it performs on their sides, backs, and stomachs.
Sleeper Weight | Side Sleepers | Back Sleepers | Stomach Sleepers |
Light (under 130 lbs) | Good | Excellent | Good |
Average (130-230 lbs) | Good | Excellent | Excellent |
Heavy (over 230 lbs) | Good | Excellent | Good |
Average-weight Tester – 130 to 230 lbs
Mattress expert Sosha Lewis found the DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam particularly accommodating on her back. “I loved this on my back,” she said. “It was a perfect blend of contouring and support. I was very impressed with how it filled in the gap around my lower back—I had completed a lower-back intensive workout before testing this bed, and I could feel it pulling some of the aches and pains away from that area.”
Lightweight Tester – Under 130 lbs
Lightweight tester Riley Otis said that, although someone with sensitive joints might experience some pressure buildup around their hips while on their sides, the cushiness of the bed was just right for the majority of side sleepers. But on her back, she gave the bed a perfect score, praising its balance of cushion and support.
DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam In-Depth Test Results
Pressure Relief
The weight of your body on a mattress for hours on end means these surfaces absorb a lot of pressure. Without materials that impart sufficient pressure relief, your body pays the price—and that’s when you wake up with joint and back pain. “An unsuitable mattress can make your pressure point discomfort worse if it doesn’t offer the proper support, is made of low-quality materials or isn’t the right firmness level,” explains Dr. Dasgupta.
Different body types and sleep positions can affect how your body weight is distributed, so we use testers from different weight classes to assess the pressure relief in all the mattresses we test. Overall, the DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam Mattress fared well, with an average score of 4.5/5 stars. It earned 4/5 stars for pressure relief in the side-sleeping position and a flawless 5/5 stars in the back-sleeping position.
Lightweight tester Riley Otis was pleasantly surprised by the pressure relief for her weight class but pointed out that it’s best suited to those who prefer the feel of a firm mattress. On her back, she found it equally comfortable, with excellent alignment and zero sinkage.
Our medium-weight tester, Sosha Lewis, gave the Premier the same scores: 4/5 on her side and 5/5 on her back. On her side, she experienced some dipping around her hips. While she said it wasn’t uncomfortable — just noticeable — it has the potential to become an issue for dedicated side sleepers. The Premier was a much better fit on her back. “Big, big fan of the back pressure relief on this bed,” she said. “It is all that I want for pressure relief. Contouring and supportive. My spine was deliciously aligned.”
Edge Support
Memory foam mattresses don’t generally perform well in this category because they lack the reinforced coils around the perimeter that make for sturdy edges. But the DreamCloud Premier scored an average of 4.8/5 stars, making it a good fit for couples who need space to spread out or those who have mobility issues and need stable edges to get in and out of bed safely.

Sosha found that the mattress excelled during both the seated and lying edge-support tests. She said she was very impressed given the all-foam construction and experienced no fear of rolling off the bed. She gave the mattress 5/5 stars for both tests.

Another of our in-house testers performed a weighted edge support test. She put three stacks of weighted plates on the edge of the mattress, each representing a different weight class, and measured the depth of sinkage. The Premier sank 2 inches for the lightest stack and 3 inches for the medium stack, earning 5/5 stars apiece. The heaviest stack sank 4 inches, so we gave it 4/5 stars.
Cooling
Since it’s a foam mattress, we didn’t have high expectations for the DreamCloud Premier in the cooling category. Memory foam has a reputation for trapping heat, and all-foam mattresses don’t have the breathability of their hybrid mattress counterparts. That’s because pocketed coils and innersprings allow air to circulate far better than foam. The DreamCloud Premier fared below-average, earning 3.5/5 stars.

When Sosha used the thermal gun, the Premier had an initial surface temperature of 75.2 degrees. It heated to 84.2 degrees after she lay on it for seven minutes, an increase of 9 degrees—something that caught her by surprise.
“It had a somewhat cool-to-the-touch feel (the coolness didn’t blow me away but for memory foam it was noticeable) and I remained comfortable the whole time,” she said. “When I got up, it was warmer in the spot I had been, but not anything that grabbed my attention. I wouldn’t recommend this to really hot sleepers, but I tend to sleep on the hotter side and I would have no issues with this bed.” Still, based on the subjective temperature increase, she scored the Premier 3.5/5 stars. For especially hot sleepers, a mattress with active cooling technology is likely a better choice.
Motion Isolation
Anyone who has been jostled awake in the middle of the night because a partner rolled over and hopped back into bed would have benefited from a mattress with high motion isolation. It’s an indication of how well the materials and layers absorb movement and prevent it from rippling across the bed. Memory foam models tend to excel here, so it’s no surprise that the DreamCloud Premier earned another perfect score with 5/5 stars.
Sosha used two different tests to assess the potential for motion transfer on the Premier. First, she placed a glass of water on the bed and climbed in and out on the other side, observing the level of movement in the water. She scored the bed 5/5 stars for this test.

Next, she assessed the water while rolling around on the opposite side. Again, movement in the glass was minimal, earning 5/5 stars.
In the third test, a human tester wearing a sleep mask lay on the bed while another tester got in and out and rolled around. While she could tell that someone else was on the bed with her, Sosha said she wasn’t at all disturbed by their movement. “I am a very light sleeper and sleep with a restless partner and would have no issues sharing this bed with them,” she added. She scored the Premier 5/5 stars.
Response
A mattress with a quick response time makes it easy to change positions instead of feeling stuck in its top layers. Memory foam is known for its signature contouring and slow-moving feel, so it doesn’t usually score high in this category. That wasn’t true for the DreamCloud Premier, however, which delighted Sosha and earned 5/5 stars yet again.
To assess responsiveness, Sosha performed a switch test, which simply involves lying on the bed and switching between sleeping positions. “This is a memory foam mattress with a bit of a contouring Euro top, but underneath that comfort layer, there is a fairly firm and supportive bed. This made switching a breeze,” she said.
For a more objective test, we placed a 43-pound kettlebell on the center of the Premier for seven seconds and then lifted it straight up. We used a stopwatch to measure the length of time it took for the layers to return to their original shape. The Premier needed 1.4 seconds, an average bounce-back time. That’s to be expected from a mattress that feels baseline responsive but has cushy layers of foam up top.
Sinkage: Moderate

We also assessed this category by placing the kettlebell on the center of the bed and measuring how far it sank. The Premier sank 3.5 inches, which is just above average depth. Combination sleepers who move around a lot in the night may find they do better with the hybrid model of this mattress.
Bounce: Moderate

Foam mattresses aren’t generally known for a bouncy feel. We tested the DreamCloud Premier’s ability to spring back after the release of pressure by dropping a weighted medicine ball from six feet and using a yardstick to measure the height of its bounce. The ball winged 13 inches skyward after hitting the mattress, putting it at the lower end of moderate (which we define as 12-18 inches). Don’t expect too much springiness from this model!
Noise
With no coils to squeak or creak, we expected the Premier to score well here. Even the foams were silent, with none of the subtle hissing that can occur from air escaping. “It’s whisper-quiet,” noted Sosha, who scored the mattress 5/5 stars.
Sex
Our sex rating is the average of a mattress’s averages scores from responsiveness, edge support, and noise. The DreamCloud Premier earned 4.4/5 stars, making it a pretty decent surface for sexual activities. It shouldn’t make it too challenging to move around, and you should feel reasonably supported if your activities move you away from the center of the bed. Plus, you won’t be distracted by annoying squeaks from the mattress itself (although we make no promises about your bed frame).
DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam Customer Experience Scores
Buying a new mattress online sight unseen can feel risky, but bed-in-a-box companies do their best to alleviate any concern with perks like trial windows and free shipping. Here’s what to know about the company policies relating to this DreamCloud mattress.
Trial Period
DreamCloud offers one of the best sleep trials in the industry, with a full 365-night trial. You get a full year to sleep on it and decide if it meets your needs or not, which means you can test it through all four seasons. Since typical sleep trials run anywhere from 30 to 100 days, this is pretty generous.
Warranty
DreamCloud’s Forever Warranty is as generous as its sleep trial. If you notice workmanship or material defects, the company will replace mattresses that are 10 years old or less. If your mattress is older than that and has an issue relating to its materials or construction, DreamCloud will repair it.
DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam Construction
Now that you know how the DreamCloud Premier performs, let’s take a closer look at the materials and construction responsible. Our testers cut a section on the side so we can see what’s under the covers, so to speak.
Mattress Height & Weight
The Premier is 13” tall and a queen size weighs roughly 73 pounds.
Materials
There are three foam layers in the Premier, along with a Euro top made with a soft quilted foam and a breathable knit.
Layers
The quilted Euro top has cooling fibers and includes a stitched-in foam layer. Just below is the contouring memory foam layer for pressure relief. Next comes a thicker support layer of gel-infused memory foam with a similarly cushy feel. These transition layers are positioned over a thick, dense support foam base. The bottom of the mattress is covered with a durable shell for protection and longevity.

How the DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam Compares
We liked the DreamCloud Premier’s firmer feel for back and stomach sleepers. But lightweight stomach sleepers may find it’s too firm to be comfortable, and heavier sleepers might fare better on a mattress designed to support more weight. Here’s what else might be worth considering.
- Nectar Premier Mattress – Softer feel for side sleepers
- TEMPUR-Cloud Mattress – Luxury option
- Helix Midnight Luxe Mattress – Better for hot sleepers

DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam vs. Nectar Premier
DreamCloud and Nectar share the same parent company, Resident Home, so both offer the same sleep trial and lifetime warranty. But the 13-inch Nectar Premier is a touch softer at 6.5/10 on the firmness scale, making it a true medium-firm that accommodates side sleepers a little better than the DreamCloud Premier.
Stomach sleepers will fare better on the DreamCloud because of its firmer feel, but we’d recommend something more supportive than either of these options for most heavyweight sleepers. On the plus side, both mattresses have similar pricing and are easy on the wallet.

DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam vs. Tempur-Pedic Tempur-Cloud
Side sleepers and fans of foam beds will do well on the Tempur-Cloud, but we found its cushioning foams and support very well suited to those with back pain. As with the DreamCloud Premier, its memory foam layers mean standout motion isolation, but its medium-firm feel likely isn’t the best choice for those with mobility issues.
If you like the slow-moving, classic feel of memory foam mattresses, you’ll appreciate the slow sink of the Tempur-Cloud. Just keep in mind that you’ll pay more than you would for a DreamCloud.

DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam vs. Helix Midnight Luxe
The Helix Midnight Luxe is a bestselling hybrid mattress, so it does a better job of promoting airflow for cooler sleep. Both mattresses have cushioning pillow tops, with the Helix coming in a touch softer at 6.5/10 on the firmness scale. That makes it better suited to side sleepers, but it’s too soft for stomach sleeping.
The DreamCloud has a longer sleep trial than the Midnight Luxe’s 100 nights, and it’ll save you a few hundred dollars as well. Back and stomach sleepers and anyone who prefers a firmer feel should do better on the DreamCloud mattress.
