What Do Nolah Bamboo Sheets Feel Like?

The Nolah sheets are made from bamboo, which is known to feel much softer and silkier than sheets made out of cotton or linen. These are also a bit thinner than most other sheets out there. But because of this, they shouldn’t trap your body heat, which is a plus when sleeping on soft sheets like these!

Nolah Bamboo Sheets Materials

Nolah’s bamboo sheets are made from 100% high-quality bamboo viscose. This material is made from, you guessed it, bamboo fibers! It’s a breathable material, and it has moisture-wicking properties to it. This is a great combination for hot sleepers. No more overheating or night sweats with sheets made from bamboo viscose.

One thing I will note about these sheets is that while they’re made of durable materials, the fitted sheet doesn’t have the sturdiest elastic band. I am a side sleeper who switches sides many times during the night, and I found myself having to readjust the fitted sheet frequently.

What to Consider Before Buying

So, how did these sheets perform for me when I used them? Let’s talk about a few key categories to consider when buying new sheets.

Sleeping Hot or Cold

Bamboo viscose is a great material for hot sleepers. It’s durable, breathable, and has some moisture-wicking properties to it. This combination of features makes it a win for hot sleepers! Say goodbye to night sweats with these bamboo sheets.

Nolah Bamboo Sheets Side Sleeping

Because the flat sheet is on the thinner side, if you tend to get cold quickly, you may end up reaching for a comforter or a weighted blanket to keep you warm.

Care Instructions

Caring for your Nolah sheets is easy!

Just wash on a cold water cycle with similar colors. Despite being all white, however, Nolah recommends against using bleach or fabric softener. This will help your sheets last longer.

To dry, move the sheets into the dryer and tumble dry on medium, or hang dry if you can.

Allergies

Bamboo sheets are naturally hypoallergenic, and they fight common allergens in your sleep environment. If you suffer from allergies, these are a great option for you.

This is also an eco-friendly set of sheets. It has a Forest Steward Council (FSC) certification which means the bamboo was sustainably sourced and harvested.

They carry an OEKO-Tex 100 certification, which means no toxins or harmful chemicals went into making these sheets.

Company Policies

Here’s what you can expect when you purchase the Nolah Bamboo Sheets:

Set Includes

For this review, I received the queen size bamboo sheet set. This includes a fitted sheet, a flat sheet, and two pillowcases.

Twin and twin xl sheet sets will come with one pillowcase, while king and California king sets come with two pillowcases.

Return Policy

Nolah offers free shipping and returns. For the bamboo bed sheets, you have up to 30 days to make a return for a full refund, or an exchange request. This acts as a trial period for you to test out the sheets.

If you decide to keep your Nolah bamboo sheets, you get an impressive 10-year warranty!

How Do the Nolah Bamboo Sheets Compare To Other Sheets?

With sheets made of so many different materials, it can be hard to figure out what works best for you. Here’s how the Nolah bamboo sheets stack up to other sheets on the market.

Nolah Vs. Parachute

Cotton sheets are some of the most common sheets on the market right now. Parachute’s Percale sheets are made from Egyptian cotton. Their weave style, the percale, makes them a pretty breathable set as well. Both this and the Nolah sheets should work well for hot sleepers.

But how are they different? Well to start: the materials. Cotton sheets tend to feel crisper than bamboo sheets. The Parachute sheets are made of Egyptian cotton, which is softer than traditional cotton, but compared to bamboo, they’ll still feel much crisper.

Parachute-percale-sheets-on-bed

The Parachute sheets also get a crisp feeling from the percale weave used to construct them. The percale weave, or plain weave, is a weave that leaves sheets looking matte and feeling crisp. One other popular weave style is the sateen weave, which makes sheets feel much more satin-like.

RELATED: Percale vs Sateen Sheets

Nolah currently only sells its bamboo sheet set in a white color option. Parachute sells its percale sheets in a few different neutral colors to match most color schemes in your bedroom.

Finally, both cost about the same price, but you have 60 days to try out and return the Parachute Percale sheets over Nolah’s 30 days. But if you decide to keep your Nolah sheets, you have a very long 10-year warranty.

Who Should Get the Nolah Bamboo Sheets?

  • Fans of soft bamboo sheets
  • People who like a long warranty for their sheets

Who Should Get the Parachute Percale Sheets?

  • Anyone looking for sheets with colors to choose from
  • Fans of crisp, cotton sheets

Nolah Vs. Casper

Also known for foam beds is Casper. And, like most companies, it sells bed sheets to fully deck out your new bed.

Casper’s Hyperlite sheets are another great option for hot sleepers, but they’re made from Tencel. This material is a natural product derived from eucalyptus. Like bamboo, it is also fairly breathable and has some moisture-wicking properties. However, unlike bamboo, these sheets are also cool to the touch!

Casper Hyperlite Sheets - featured

Both sheets are fairly thin, so if you’re a cold sleeper, you may need to layer up. But overall, both sheets will be great for hot sleepers.

Casper’s hyperlite fitted sheet can also fit mattresses up to 17” tall! This is good news for people who tend to toss and turn, as the fitted sheet should stay secure around the corners of your mattress.

If you’re looking for color, again, Nolah only sells their sheets in classic white, while Casper has a few more color options to choose from.

Finally, in terms of price, both cost about the same, but Casper’s are just a little bit more affordable.

Who Should Get the Nolah Bamboo Sheets?

  • Hot sleepers
  • Fans of soft, bamboo sheets

Who Should Get the Casper Hyperlite Sheets?

  • Anyone looking for color options in their sheets
  • People looking for deep pockets in the fitted sheet

FAQs

Still have questions? I’ve compiled a few of the most frequently asked questions!

How can you tell if bamboo sheets are good quality?

One way you can tell bamboo sheets are good quality is by looking at how the bamboo viscose or rayon is treated in production. Many companies, like Nolah, will go through the steps to process bamboo safely and responsibly by removing harmful chemicals and toxins to make them OEKO-Tex certified.

Bamboo sheets also don’t typically rely on thread count to be considered high quality. A high thread count doesn’t always mean a high-quality set of sheets. In fact, bamboo sheets have a recommended thread count of 300. Any more than this, you might need to be a little skeptical about.

RELATED: Best Thread Count for Sheets

How long will the Nolah Bamboo Sheets last?

Bamboo fibers used to make sheets are much more durable than cotton. Because of this, bamboo sheets should last you quite a long time. Nolah recognizes this and offers a 10-year warranty on its sheets!

How often should you wash bamboo sheets?

Cleaning your sheets is just part of good hygiene! It’s often recommended to wash your sheets every 7-10 days. If you want a full breakdown, you can read our article on how often you should wash your sheets!
