A cooling mattress is a great way to help hot sleepers avoid overheating at night. With a name like the Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid, this bed should live up to the hype and provide a pretty chill sleep experience. In this review, weโ€™ll go over not only how well this bed regulates temperature but also other areas of performance to determine who will love this mattress most.

Why trust us? Our expert team, including chief medical product tester Dr. Hannah Habeeb, has been reviewing mattresses for yearsโ€”for me, itโ€™s been more than two. Weโ€™ve helped more than 43,000 sleepers find their new mattresses. In 2025, we satisfied more than 6,600 shoppers. The Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid is just one of the over 500 beds weโ€™ve tested, but weโ€™ll tell you what makes it stand out from the pack, aside from its super-cool name.

Our Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid Review in a Nutshell

The Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid is a well-rounded mattress, scoring admirably across all our performance categories. Its hybrid construction includes both foam and coils, providing a balanced blend of cushioning, pressure relief, and slightly responsive support. It didnโ€™t wow us when it came to isolating motion, but it did feel plenty cool in our temperature-regulation tests. The bed is also available in multiple firmness categories, but the Medium-Firm model lives up to its name, coming in at a true medium feel.

The Leesa Sapira Chill is a cool, comfortable bed that pairs a plush pillow top with supportive zoned coils. Itโ€™s available in three firmness options, so many sleepers should be able to choose a model that works for their sleeping position. This isnโ€™t the cheapest option for a cooling mattress, though. Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid Mattress Performance: My Overall Rating

Our mattress testing methodology includes a range of categories pertaining to the bedโ€™s construction, performance, and even company policies. Our testers evaluate the mattress and award a score out of 5 in each of these areas, which are then combined to form the mattressโ€™s overall score.

The Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid earned a rating of 4.4 out of 5. This is due to the bedโ€™s high marks in pressure relief (4.5/5), customer service (4.4/5), edge support (4.3/5), cooling (4/5), and responsiveness (4/5). The bedโ€™s lowest score was still a fairly acceptable 3.8/5 in motion isolation. Overall, this is a versatile mattress that should satisfy sleepers with varying preferences and needs.

I Recommend the Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid Forโ€ฆ

  • Side sleepers of all sizes โ€“ The Leesa Sapira Chillโ€™s medium feel, pressure-relieving pillow top, and robust support coils all make the perfect profile for these sleepers.
  • Hot sleepers โ€“ Our testers found this bed cool to the touch, even when lying on it.
  • Sleepers looking for strong edge support โ€“ Older adults, those with mobility concerns, and folks who just like to sit or lie down at the edge of the bed should appreciate the stability of this bedโ€™s perimeter.

I Donโ€™t Recommend the Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid Forโ€ฆ

  • Light sleepers who share the bed โ€“ This mattress has just average motion isolation; while most couples will likely sleep without incident, folks who are easily awoken may feel more movement from the other side of the bed.
  • Heavyweight stomach sleepers โ€“ The Medium-Firm model of the Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid will be too soft to support them. Opt for the firmest version or another mattress thatโ€™s better for stomach sleepers.

How Well Did the Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid Perform?

As mentioned, we run each mattress through a volley of tests in our studio, assigning ratings and recording data so you can get the best impression of how the bed performs. Weโ€™ve tested over 500 beds and have a pretty good idea of whatโ€™s below- and above-average performance. Below are the results we gathered for the Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid and how it compares to what we typically see.

How Firm is the Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid?

6/10 mattress firmness on a scale

At Mattress Clarity, we rate firmness on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being the softest and 10 being the firmest. The Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid comes in multiple firmness levels (Plush, Medium-Firm, and Firm). We tested the mid-range Medium-Firm option. It ended up in the middle of our scale, a 6/10. This is half a point softer than the industry standard for medium-firm, 6.5/10. Still, we classify this mattress as having a true medium feel.

The Sapira Chill has a soft, cushioning pillow top on the surface, so along with its medium feel, youโ€™ll likely sink comfortably into the mattress. If you like a balanced sleep surface that leans slightly plush, the Medium-Firm model will feel great. If you like the Sapira Chill Hybrid but are worried about its firmness, consider the other models: the Plush model will be a touch softer, and the Firm a touch firmer.

How Does the Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid Feel for Different Body Types and Sleeping Positions?

โ€œYour preferred sleeping position and body weight have an effect on how a mattress feels to you,โ€ says our chief medical advisor, Dr. Raj Dasgupta. Thatโ€™s why we aim to have testers representing different weight categories try out the mattress in each sleeping position.

Based on our findings, weโ€™ve outlined how well the bed should work for each sleeper type in the table below, plus some firsthand quotes from our testers. Youโ€™ll see that the Leesa Sapira Chill is generally a good pick for side and back sleepers, regardless of weight category.

โ€œI feel equally supported on this mattress when Iโ€™m resting on my back or side. At the same time, itโ€™s also cozy.โ€ โ€“ Expert Tester

Average-weight Tester โ€“ 5โ€™6โ€, 170 lbs

โ€œIโ€™m not a stomach sleeper and have always found the position uncomfortable, but on this bed, I felt like I could have fallen asleep on my stomach. It was almost like the bed was allowing my body to find the perfectly balanced way to sink while maintaining good spinal alignment. Heavier people might find it too plush, but it made a stomach-sleeping convert out of me.โ€ โ€“ Melanie Kassel

Lightweight Tester โ€“ 5โ€™2โ€, 122 lbs

โ€œThe bed is great on my side, but on my back, it feels like my lower half is sinking a bit more than my shoulders. Itโ€™s not uncomfortable, but I am feeling a bit of pressure on my lower back, which could be a concern for sleepers with back pain.โ€ โ€“ In-House Tester

Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid In-Depth Test Results

Pressure Relief

Pressure Relief โ€“ 4.5

โ€œA mattress that relieves pressure will cradle the areas of your body that sink deeply into the bed,โ€ explains Dr. Dasgupta. โ€œThis is often most important for most side and back sleepers.โ€ To achieve the desired pressure relief, youโ€™ll typically need contouring materials like memory foam or soft latex around your hips, shoulders, lower back, knees, or other sensitive joints.

When evaluating pressure relief, we enlist testers representing each weight category (lightweight, average-weight, and heavyweight) to try the mattress on their backs and sides. Before they get into bed, we place a specialized mat on top of the mattress.

This mat uses thermal imaging to record where pressure builds up along the body, creating a color-coded map of high (red and yellow) and low (blue and green) pressure. It also records the overall pressure distributed across the surface in pounds per square inch (PSI). This number indicates how much pressure is felt across the entire surface of the bed, and whether the mattress will feel comfortable to certain sleeper types.

On top of these objective results, we also have the testers describe their experience and rate it out of five. Physical therapist Dr. Hannah Habeeb, our chief medical product tester, also performs a similar test, though she evaluates the mattress from an orthopedic standpoint, focusing on pain concerns.

For the Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid, our overall pressure relief score was a high 4.5/5, with high marks for both side and back sleepers. Letโ€™s dive deeper into how we got this rating.

Our heavyweight tester loved the mattress in both sleeping positions, awarding each a perfect score for pressure relief. On his side, he felt โ€œvery aligned in terms of the spine,โ€ adding that there was significant pressure relief around his shoulder. His overall pressure came in at 15.67 PSI, which is fairly low for a heavyweight sleeper, and about one point above our average for side-sleeping. This means side sleepers in this weight category should be set.

Pressure map of a heavier back sleeper on the Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid mattress.
Pressure map of a heavier back sleeper on the Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid mattress.

Switching to his back, our tester had a similarly positive experience. โ€œThereโ€™s no real discernible added pressure,โ€ he said, โ€œother than the pressure of being a human being.โ€ Once again, he had a relatively low overall pressure at 13.8 PSI. Heavyweight sleepers, in general, might love the Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid if theyโ€™re looking for a medium-feel, pressure-relieving mattress.

Average-weight sleepers should also have the same luck, based on our testerโ€™s findings. โ€œI donโ€™t sleep on my side typically, but I love this mattress in this position, and thatโ€™s saying a lot,โ€ she explained.  She specifically noted her alignment and the excellent pressure relief in her hips, a common problem area for her. This was further backed up by her overall pressure, which was 12.38, another low number. Based on her experience, she ultimately rated side-sleeping pressure relief at 5/5.

Pressure map of a average side sleeper on the Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid mattress.
Pressure map of an average side sleeper on the Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid mattress.

Our average-weight tester liked the mattress on her back but ultimately preferred sleeping on her side. โ€œThereโ€™s a slight discomfort in my lower back, causing my lumbar area to arch uncomfortably,โ€ she said. โ€œItโ€™s not noticeable enough that it would make me not like the bed, though.โ€ Her overall pressure was once again quite low at 10.7, and she rated pressure relief for average-weight back sleepers at 4/5.

Finally, our lightweight tester gave both side and back sleeping on this mattress a 4/5. Her overall pressure on her side was a bit high for a light sleeper at 12 PSI, and she complained of a little pressure in her shoulder. โ€œStill, itโ€™s not uncomfortable,โ€ she explained. โ€œYou sink in the right way, if that makes sense.โ€

When she moved to her back, she noticed a bit more sinkage around the hips than with her upper half. โ€œThereโ€™s a small amount of pressure on my lower back, but again, nothing uncomfortable,โ€ she said. Her overall pressure was a lot lower here at 10.28; Iโ€™d still call this a touch high, but nothing out of the ordinary. Looking at our testerโ€™s results, I still believe that lightweight sleepers should enjoy the Sapira Chill Hybrid when it comes to either position.

After all of our pressure relief testers had a go on this mattress, we sought out Dr. Habeeb for her expert opinion. She echoed the sentiments of her fellow testers, particularly enjoying the mattress on her side. โ€œItโ€™s very soft and allows you to sink into the mattress surface,โ€ she said. โ€œIt also contours your body really well and distributes pressure really well across the hipsโ€

In the same vein, she thought the bed provided the perfect profile for folks with hip and shoulder pain. โ€œOne of the biggest things I noticed is the weight distribution around the shoulders, and the cushioning it provides to the shoulder joint,โ€ she explained. โ€œIโ€™d also recommend it for lateral hip pain, specifically for the bursa. I think it does a really good job dispersing weight and relieving pressure in that area.โ€

Dr. Habeeb thought the mattress could be โ€œa little soft for back pain.โ€ She explained, โ€œYour body can sink to the point where itโ€™s not keeping proper spinal alignment, as firmer mattresses do.โ€ This will likely depend on whoโ€™s sleeping on the mattress, though. Lightweight sleepers will sink in less than those with a larger frame, for example.

Edge Support

Edge Support โ€“ 4.3

Edge support refers to how well the perimeter of a mattress holds up when bearing weight. Itโ€™s an important metric for folks who need assistance getting in and out of bed, as well as those who just like to spread out and make the most of available surfaces. Strong edge support is also a sign of durability, as it shows a mattress is more likely to hold its shape and less likely to sag.

We test edge support in two ways, one objective and another more subjective. Our objective test involves stacking weight plates on the edge of the mattress to mimic different sized sleepers sitting on the edge. We then use a tape measure to measure the sinkage depth, which is then rated out of 5.

On the lightest weight, the mattress sank about 4 inches, yielding a 4/5 rating. For the average-weight stack, this increased to 5 inches; for the heavyweight stack, it was 6.5 inches. The average-weight edge support was again rated 4/5, while the heavyweight came to 3.5/5.

In our second test, our tester sat and lay down on the edge of the mattress, assessing how secure they felt in each position and again giving a rating out of 5. My colleague Melanie Kassel performed this test for the Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid and received much better results than the weighted edge support test:

โ€œWhile I was seated, I could feel the reinforced edges trying to resist my downward movementโ€”it was almost like a second edge trying to push me up,โ€ she explained. โ€œThe sides felt very strong. I do think this bed is quite tall, and that was a bigger obstacle to getting in and out of it than any lack of edge support.โ€

When she lay down at the edge, she felt โ€œsecurely heldโ€ by the mattress. โ€œSwitching positions had no effect on the sturdiness of the edge support,โ€ she said. โ€œIf my eyes were closed, it might even be hard to tell whether or not I was on the edge of the bed.โ€

Based on all of these results, the Sapira Chill Hybrid ended up with an overall edge support score of 4.3/5. This makes it a great pick for older adults, folks with mobility concerns, and sleepers who like to snooze near the edge of the bed.

Cooling

Cooling โ€“ 4

With a moniker that includes โ€œchill,โ€ we were hoping for a rockstar showing in our temperature regulation tests. To see whether a mattress is cooling, we use a thermal gun to measure the increase in surface temperature: first, before anyone has gotten on the bed, and again after our tester has rested there for about nine minutes.

How much the temperature increases directly correlates with the cooling score. On average, we see an increase of around 6 degrees. These results are further tempered by our testerโ€™s description of how the mattress felt while they were lying on it.

The initial surface temperature of the Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid was 66.7 degrees. After resting on the bed for the allotted time, Melanie recorded the temperature as 77.5, a 10.8-degree increase. This is fairly high, but she pushed back against writing off the bed as bad for hot sleepers. โ€œThis bed feels cool to the touch, thanks to the cooling fibers in the cover, and it did not noticeably heat up while I was lying on top of it,โ€ she said.

Based on these results, the Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid received a 4/5 cooling score, mostly due to the thermal gun test. But based on Melanieโ€™s findings, most hot sleepers should find this mattress cool-to-the-touchโ€”especially with the addition of some nice cooling sheets.

Motion Isolation

Motion Isolation โ€“ 3.8

You may have heard the term โ€œmotion isolationโ€ thrown around a lot when it comes to couples. This is because a bed with good motion isolation keeps movement relegated to one side, a must-have for light sleepers who share the bed with a partner

To test a bedโ€™s ability to isolate motion, we perform two tests. The first is the water glass test, in which we place a glass of water on one side of the mattress, then get in on the other. Weโ€™ll move around and try to cause a stir, taking note of how the water in the glass behaves. The more it wobbles, the more movement is felt, and the worse the motion isolation is.

When Melanie performed this test, she noted that it was difficult to find a stable place to put the glass because of the bedโ€™s tufted, uneven surface. โ€œBut when we were able to balance the water glass, it shook slightly as I got in and out of bed,โ€ she explained. โ€œThe glass itself seemed to move more than the water inside it. I thought it would be in danger of spilling, but it was far more stable than I had feared.โ€

Switching positions on the mattress caused a more dramatic reaction. โ€œAt one point, I almost tried to grab it because I thought it might tip over, but it didnโ€™t,โ€ she said. She noted that the uneven surface of the bed could be the culprit for some of this instability, but added, โ€œIt does seem like switching from back- to side-sleeping could cause some disturbances.โ€

After the water glass test, we enlist the help of another tester to perform our partner test. In this test, one person lies blindfolded on the mattress, while the other hops in on the other side. Like the water glass test, theyโ€™ll roll around and switch positions, mimicking how a typical restless night might go. The blindfolded tester will give a thumbs-up if they feel any motion.

Once a fellow tester tried out the bed alongside Melanie, she noted that she could โ€œdefinitelyโ€ feel their movements. โ€œThe pillow top did a handy job of absorbing the motion, but it couldnโ€™t totally counteract the springiness of the mattress construction,โ€ she said. โ€œI felt the most movement when the other tester switched positions next to meโ€”my own body moved side to side a bit when that happened.โ€

After combining the findings of both of these tests, Melanie awarded the Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid a motion isolation score of 3.8/5. This is fairly average, so we wouldnโ€™t call it the best mattress for light sleepers, but it should satisfy most couples who sleep fairly deeply.

Response

Response โ€“ 4

Responsiveness is a close cousin to bounce. It refers to how well a mattress โ€œsnaps backโ€ into place when you press down or move around on it. A responsive mattress is a bed thatโ€™s easy to move around on, so itโ€™s an important consideration for combination sleepers and sexually active couples.

Our responsiveness test is fairly straightforward. We get on top of the mattress and move around, switching between positions and rolling aroundโ€”whatever tickles our fancy. From here, we judge how easy or difficult it is to move on the surface.

Our tester kneeling on the Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid Mattress

The Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid has coils in it, which usually makes for a bouncier surface, but Melanie noted that switching positions โ€œwasnโ€™t the easiestโ€ on this bed. โ€œThe pillow top tries to hold onto you a bit, and you have to adjust by putting some heft behind your movements,โ€ she said. โ€œIt could feel like I was dragging my hip against the bed while transitioning from my side to my back.โ€ She also found that the contours and valleys of the pillow top itself posed an issue when trying to move, creating a natural obstacle course.

With a total responsiveness score of 4/5, the Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid likely wonโ€™t have you feeling โ€œstuckโ€ in its surface, but itโ€™s not the bounciest bed in the world. If you like a super-bouncy bed, you may want to check out the best mattresses for combination sleepers.

Sinkage: Moderate

Sinkage sounds like a negative thing, but it depends on personal preference. A mattress with high sinkage will cradle and โ€œhugโ€ you, while a mattress with low sinkage will provide a more lifted, โ€œon topโ€ feel.

To measure sinkage, we place a kettlebell on the surface of a mattress, then use a ruler to record how much the bed sinks beneath the weight. For the Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid, we recorded a sinkage depth of 3 inches, which is pretty close to our average of 3.25 inches. This is considered moderate sinkage, and makes sense with the balanced hybrid feel this bed offers.

Bounce: High

Like sinkage, bounce can be a good or bad thing. Some folks prefer a bouncy mattress for ease of movement, while others may like a more slow-moving feel, which can also mean better motion absorption. When recording a bedโ€™s bounce height, weโ€™ll drop a medicine ball from about 6 feet in the air, using a yardstick to measure how high the bed bounces off the mattress.

Bounce test on the Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid Mattress

For the Leesa Sapira Chill, we recorded a surprisingly high bounce height of 20.5 inches. This is a few inches above what we see on average (17.89 inches). While the Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid has plenty of bounce, Iโ€™ll mention that my fellow tester Melanie still encountered some pushback from the dense pillow top that required effort when moving around. However, the bed only had average motion transfer, so this bounciness may be the reason.

Noise

Noise โ€“ 4

If youโ€™re especially sensitive to sounds during the night, the last thing you want is a squeaky or creaky mattress. Thankfully, the Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid barely made any sound during testing, earning a 5/5 for overall noise. Our tester only noted a โ€œvery quiet, release-of-air sound when pressing on the cover,โ€ though it was not enough to affect her rating. She didnโ€™t notice any other noises, not even from the coils, as she jumped or moved around on the bed.

Sex

Sex โ€“ 4.4

Folks looking for the best mattresses for sex will want to prioritize responsiveness, edge support, and no noise. Responsiveness and edge support will give you ease of movement and plenty of space to work with, while a quiet mattress wonโ€™t detract from the main event.

The Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid  performed rather well in all of these areas, scoring 4/5 and above in each for an overall sex rating of 4.4/5. The lowest rating was for responsiveness, but even this came in at 4/5; so, it may not be super-bouncy, but you should be able to move around without incident.

Adjustable Base Compatibility

Adjustable bases are popular additions to mattresses because they can elevate the mattress and improve sleep quality. Theyโ€™re also popular among folks with pain concerns, particularly for their use of โ€œzero gravity,โ€ which is a position that takes pressure off the joints as you lie on your back. These reasons mean that more and more mattresses are being advertised as being compatible with adjustable bases. However, weโ€™ve found that some beds conform better to these frames than others.

When we plopped the Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid on an adjustable base, we werenโ€™t totally wowed by its performance. This is a super-thick mattress, measuring 14 inches tall, which makes it harder to mold to the base. With one person on the bed, we found it remained โ€œpretty flat,โ€ per our testerโ€™s notes. We always recommend turning on your adjustable base once everyone is in bed, since more weight will mean a better chance of conforming to the bed.

But you may want to opt for a thinner, more malleable bed if adjustability is a priority in your mattress. I recommend the Leesa Original, an all-foam mattress by the brand, or the Leesa Natural, a latex hybrid model.

Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid Customer Experience Scores

Itโ€™s tempting to skip over the fine print when buying a new mattress online, but these factors can make a big difference as you test out and decide whether to commit to a bed.

Trial Period

Trial Period โ€“ 4

You get a 120-night sleep trial with all Leesa mattresses. While itโ€™s fairly generous, it isnโ€™t the lengthiest weโ€™ve seen, so it earned a respectable 4/5 rating.

During this trial period, you can try out your new mattress to see if itโ€™s a good fit for you. The brand asks that you give the mattress at least 30 days to soften and adapt to your body. If you still donโ€™t like it between 31 and 120 days, you can return for a full refund.

You may be asked to donate your mattress to a local charity. Upon proof of receipt, Leesa will send your full refund. If this is not an option for you, the brand will send someone to pick up your mattress and then will refund your money.

Warranty

Warranty โ€“ 4.5

All Leesa mattresses also come with a limited lifetime warranty. Since thereโ€™s limitations to this warranty despite its all-encompassing length, we docked it half a point, earning 4.5/5.

For the first ten years of the warranty, any manufacturing defects in the foam or cover are completely covered. This means the brand will repair or replace any defective bed, free of charge. From year eleven onward, this replacement is offered at a prorated price, meaning the amount youโ€™re refunded will decrease the more time passes.

Note that if you donโ€™t pair the mattress with a proper base or damage the mattress yourself, the warranty will be void.

Unboxing and Moving

Unboxing and Moving โ€“ 4

The Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid is a bed-in-a-box, meaning itโ€™ll arrive at your door compressed in a cardboard box. This is intended to streamline the process of setting up your mattress in your desired space, but we found it wasnโ€™t exactly seamless. Our testers found the box too heavy for just one person to move. It was easy to open, since the box was only held together by a single piece of tape.

The mattress itself was wrapped in a ton of plastic that took a while to unroll, which made the process a bit more tedious. But once it was punctured, the bed started to inflate. Despite these minimal setbacks, we gave the Sapira Chill Hybrid a 4/5 unboxing rating, as it isnโ€™t the most difficult weโ€™ve encountered.

Readiness After Unboxing

Readiness After Unboxing โ€“ 5

The Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid should fully expand within 24 hours, just as it did in our studio. Our testers noted it puffed up rather quickly after puncturing the plastic lining, so we rated it 5/5.

A corner shot of the Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid on an adjustable base

Off-gassing

Off-gassing โ€“ 5

Off-gassing refers to the โ€œnew mattress smellโ€ that you might notice from a mattress thatโ€™s been compressed. Though largely harmless, it can be a problem for sensitive noses. Thankfully, there was no such chemical smell when we unboxed the Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid, regardless of how close we put our face to the bed. We rated the off-gassing at 5/5.

Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid Construction

Now that you know how the bed feels and performs, letโ€™s take a look at whatโ€™s inside the Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid.

Mattress Height & Weight

The Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid is 14โ€ tall. This mattress can weigh anywhere between 60 lbs to 130 lbs, depending on which size you choose. For reference, a queen-size Sapira Chill will weigh about 103 lbs.

Materials

As a hybrid mattress, the Leesa Sapira Chill includes both foam and coils in its construction.

Layers

Construction of the Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid Mattress 2

The thermal regulation of the Sapira Chill Hybrid mattress starts off right on top with the cooling cover. According to the brand, the cover contains cooling fibers that will keep your skin at 88 degrees. I canโ€™t speak to the 88 degrees, but the cover is truly cool to the touch.

There are numerous comfort layers in the Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid, and most of them also work to keep you cool while you sleep. First off, quilted into the cover, youโ€™ll find a thick layer of gel-infused foam. Like with many of the best mattresses, this gel is intended to dissipate your body heat and to keep the mattress from trapping heat.

Beneath this top layer, thereโ€™s breathable foam on top of an adaptable memory foam layer. Both are designed to offer pressure relief and good response. They should also keep you from feeling stuck in the mattress.

Finally, a layer of premium, firmer foam acts as a transition layer. This adds some more pressure relief to the mattress but also prevents you from digging into the support layers.

The main support layer consists of individually wrapped coils. These pocketed coils are supportive and promote airflow through the mattress. In addition, they are zoned, meaning they are firmer in certain areas of the mattress. This design feature is intended to keep your spine neutrally aligned and to prevent back pain and other joint issues.

All of these layers rest on a layer of high-density support foam. This acts as a foundation for all of the layers above and prevents the coils from damaging your bed frame.

Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid vs. Saatva Classic

The Saatva Classic mattress is a luxury bed with two innerspring units, giving it plenty of bounce. Itโ€™s one of the most responsive beds out there, contrasting with the Leesaโ€™s pillowy soft feel on top. Both of these mattresses are also available in multiple firmness options, though the Saatva is likely to be the firmer of the two, as its mid-range option came in at 7.5/10 on our firmness scale.

The Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid will be the better option for couples, thanks to its motion isolation. Both beds should accommodate side and back sleepers, though the Saatva should work better for stomach sleepers. The Saatva also comes with a longer sleep trial and free white-glove shipping, so it may be the better bed for sleepers seeking a truly high-end experience with a new mattress purchase.

Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid vs. DreamCloud

The DreamCloud is another hybrid mattress like the Sapira Chill Hybrid, but the similarities really end there. The DreamCloud is available in only one firmness level: it scored 7.5/10 on our firmness scale. You get three options with the Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid, with both the Soft and Medium-Firm models feeling softer than the DreamCloud.

The Leesa Sapira Hybrid offers more cooling features than the DreamCloud, including a cool-to -the-touch cover and more breathable foams. However, these extra features make the Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid cost more. The DreamCloud mattress is a favorite affordable option of ours. Itโ€™s also a bit bouncier, so it may be the favored choice for sex or combination sleepers.

Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid vs. WinkBed

The WinkBed is another high-quality hybrid mattress that is available in multiple firmness options. Also, like the Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid, the WinkBed offers zoned support and a pillow top, making it a good option for people with back pain.

The WinkBed is a touch firmer than the Leesa Sapira Chill, coming in at a true medium-firm feel (6.5/10). This bed also has a more supportive, โ€œon topโ€ feel as opposed to soft cushioning, making it the better option for heavyweight sleepers and those who like to rest on their stomach. The Leesa will do better for folks who need more pressure relief on their side and back.
