Amerisleep is a popular company with a line of memory foam mattresses. As the company grows in popularity, people naturally wonder which model in the line would be best for them. The Liberty and Colonial mattresses are two of the most popular offerings from the company. I’ll try to highlight the main similarities and differences between the two mattresses to help you if you are making the decision of Liberty vs Colonial.

Amerisleep Colonial Mattress

Pick The Liberty If:

  • You are on a budget (I think given the price range the Liberty is a slightly better value)
  • You are heavier
  • You don’t exclusively sleep on your side

Pick The Colonial If:

  • You are especially sensitive to sleeping hot
  • You are lighter in weight
  • You sleep almost exclusively on your side

Bottom Line

The Colonial is slightly softer, so that is something to note for your decision. I think the Colonial is perhaps the memory foam mattress that sleeps the coolest for me of any that I have slept on, but I think the Liberty Bed is a slightly better value because it costs so much less than the Colonial. Either way, they are both great options and I don’t think you can really go wrong with either one.

I have tried Saatva luxury firm then Loom and leaf relax firm and both were great for my lower back for about 6 weeks then the pain came back. I’m now looking at the Amerisleep Liberty and would like your opinion on this mattress compared to the other two. I am 5ft 9in 140-150 lbs. sleep on my side and she is a side sleeper 105 lbs. 5ft 1in. . Any help would be appreciated. Thanks R Scott
