Serta iComfort Hybrid Blue Fusion 200 – Could It Be For You?

Early in 2018, Serta revamped their line of hybrid mattresses with seven new models. The hybrid mattresses are a combination of cooling memory foam technology– including their exclusive TempActiv™ gel memory foam – and an advanced coil system featuring the Serta® Hybrid Coil™ for support.

The Blue Fusion 200 Plush offers one of the softest comfort levels in the mix and is the most affordable plush mattress on the line. You can find our complete guide to the Serta iComfort Blue Fusion 100 Firm mattress below.

Construction Overview

The Blue Fusion 200 Plush is approximately 13.5″ in height.

These are the materials and layers in the mattress:

  • FireBlocker® Fiber
  • 1.25” Serta® PillowSoft® HD
  • .5″ Serta® PillowSoft® Foam
  • .75” TempActiv™ Gel Memory Foam
  • 2” EverCool® Fuze Gel Foam
  • Serta® Hybrid Coil Support System with Best Edge® Foam Encasement

Firmness Level

You Might Want To Consider This If:

  • You want a “best of both worlds” mattress with both memory foam and innerspring coil technology. This hybrid mattress has three layers of foam: Serta® PillowSoft® Foam, TempActiv™ Gel Memory Foam, and EverCool® Fuze Gel Foam. It also has the Serta® Hybrid Coil Support System Firm with Best Edge® Foam Encasement.
  • You prefer a softer mattress, but not the softest possible option. This is one of the softer hybrid mattresses in Serta’s new iComfort range, but there is still plenty of support. This could be a great fit for stomach sleepers and some back sleepers who prefer a softer mattress.
  • You want the “enveloping” feel of memory foam but you are worried about overheating. If you like how memory foam feels, but often find yourself overheating in your sleep, this combination mattress could be a good option—it has both TempActiv™ Gel Memory Foam and EverCool® Fuze Gel Foam, designed to regulate your temperature.

You Might Not Want To Consider This If:

  • You prefer the feel of an all-foam or all-coil mattress. Hybrids like the Blue Fusion 200 will give you support and a little bit of spring from the coil system but you’ll get to feel that pressure relieving foam on the top. If you prefer one to the other this might feel like only half your needs are being met.
  • You prefer a firmer mattress. This is definitely a soft, plush option. So if you like a firmer, more supportive mattress, this is likely not the right pick. Stomach sleepers, in particular, may find this too plush.
  • You want to sleep “in” the mattress. There are some really nice softer pressure-relieving layers at the top of this mattress that will help you sink into the bed and feel like you’re really sleeping “in” it as opposed to “on” it.

Why Pick The Blue Fusion 200 Over Other iComfort Hybrid Models?

  • It has both innerspring coil and memory foam components, which some might suggest is the best of both foam and innerspring mattresses. This not only helps the mattress to breathe a little better than a solid foam option but customers may just prefer the hybrid feel over a Serta memory foam option or a Serta innerspring coil option.
  • It has a level of softness many users may like. It is not a firm mattress but instead, it is plushy and soft. Some buyers will prefer this over harder Serta options.
  • For a plush mattress in the Serta iComfort hybrid line, it’s the most affordable and the thinnest (which can help if you are looking for a bed that’s not too tall).

Overall

Serta iComfort Hybrid Blue Fusion 200 Plush has FireBlocker® Fiber, one layer of  Serta® PillowSoft® HD, one layer of Serta® PillowSoft® Foam, one layer of TempActiv™ Gel Memory Foam, one layer of EverCool® Fuze Gel Foam, and Serta® Hybrid Coil Support System with Best Edge® Foam Encasement.

It is a soft, plushy mattress with both innerspring coil technology and memory foam layers.
