Sleeping with the Casper Weighted Blanket

I tested Casper’s 15lb blanket, though there are two other weight options available. We’ll detail those later.

Casper Weighted Blanket Sleeping

Overall, I really enjoyed this blanket. As a hot sleeper and lounger myself, I tend to wear light clothing so I can stay cool. However, I found myself reaching for this blanket again and again. No matter the outside temperature, I felt comfortable when wrapped up in this blanket.

This blanket has also helped me stay put while I sleep. I tend to toss and turn a lot, but with a weighted blanket on me, I don’t feel the need to.

How Much Does the Casper Weighted Blanket Weigh?

As mentioned, for this review, I tested the 15lb option. But Casper does sell this blanket in 10 and 20lb options as well. Each size measures the size of an average throw blanket, about 50” x 70”.

Not sure which weight option will work best for you? When you’re shopping for a weighted blanket, the general rule of thumb is to take 10% of your body weight and add or subtract a pound or two. That will lead you to the ideal blanket weight.

Let’s put this into practice. If you weigh around 215lbs, 10% of that is about 21.5lbs, so you’d likely want to look for a 20lb blanket.

Casper Weighted Blanket Feeling

The Casper weighted blanket has a cotton exterior, and it’s filled with micro-beads. The cotton is nice and soft, and it doesn’t feel crisp like some cotton products do.

Because this product is one of the best weighted blankets for weight distribution, I definitely feel that classic hugging sensation when I’m wrapped up in it.

Casper Weighted Blanket Performance

I’ve given you a little bit of my experience with this weighted blanket, but how well does it perform? Let’s talk about it.

Sleeping Hot or Cold

The Casper blanket doesn’t feature anything specific in terms of cooling or temperature regulation. Like most weighted blankets, however, you’ll certainly feel warm while using this blanket.

The cover is made of breathable cotton, which does help provide some airflow. But overall, this is a rather warm blanket.

Care Instructions

Unfortunately, this blanket is not machine washable. If you get your Casper weighted blanket dirty, you’ll have to spot clean it.

Casper Weighted Blanket Cleaning

Allergies

The Casper weighted blanket isn’t listed as a hypoallergenic product, however, we don’t expect this blanket to trigger any allergies.

Casper Weighted Blanket Construction

As we’ve said, this blanket is one of the best when it comes to weight distribution. This is because Casper designed this blanket with rectangular quilted panels. The blanket has a breathable cotton cover, which should prevent people from overheating. This outer shell has a thread-count of 205, which also helps with airflow.

Casper Weighted Blanket Construction

This heavy blanket gets its weight from polyester batting and glass micro-beads, which are found in each of the rectangular panels. The polyester and glass beads should help mimic a deep pressure sensation and make you feel much calmer.

Company Policies

Whether you’re purchasing a Casper weighted blanket or Casper mattress, you’ll want to know what to expect. Here’s a brief outline of Casper’s company polices.

Warranty

Casper offers a one-year warranty on their weighted blanket.

Trial period

If you’re not sure you bought the right weight option, don’t worry. You can test out your Casper weighted blanket with a 30-night trial period.

Return Policy

During that sleep trial, if you do decide the Casper weighted blanket isn’t for you, Casper offers free returns and full refunds.

How does Casper Weighted Blanket Compare to Other Blankets

It is just common practice to weigh options when you’re shopping for products to help you sleep. Here’s how the Casper compares to other popular weighted blankets on the market, the Gravity and Luna.

Casper vs Gravity

Gravity is one of the most popular weighted blanket brands out there, and for good reason. But what sets a Gravity blanket apart from the Casper? Let’s see.

To start, the Gravity blanket comes with a removable cover that attaches to an inner blanket. It feels rather minky and soft. The Casper blanket doesn’t have a removable cover.

Gravity weighted blanket inner blanket

Gravity’s flagship model doesn’t offer anything in terms of cooling or temperature regulation, though the company does sell a cooling blanket. Casper’s blanket features an all-cotton cover, which feels nice and breathable. You’ll still feel warm under both blankets, but the Casper might work better for especially hot sleepers.

Both blankets have really good weight distribution, but for different reasons. Casper’s quilted design keeps the fill in place, while the Gravity weighted blanket’s outer shell has a zipper and ties to keep the inner blanket in place. These blankets simulate deep pressure touch and help you wake up the next morning feeling a little less anxious.

In terms of price, the Casper weighted blanket is the more affordable option.

Who should get the Casper Weighted Blanket?

  • Fans of weighted blankets without a cover
  • Anyone on a bit of a budget

Casper vs Luna

One of the biggest differences between the Casper and Luna comes down to the variety of weight options available.

The Casper blanket only sells three different models: 10lb, 15lb, and 20lb. However, the Luna weighted blanket has an incredible amount of weight options to choose from. Because they make weighted blankets for children, the lowest weight option they have is 5lbs.

Resting Under Luna Weighted Blanket

Luna also offers a variety of size options, from throw size to king size blankets. Luna is also a more budget-friendly choice.

Who should get the Casper Weighted Blanket?

  • Average-weight adults
  • Anyone looking for a weighted blanket with great weight distribution

Who should get the Luna Weighted Blanket?
