TEMPUR-Pedic is known for their high-end line of memory foam mattresses. The company transformed the industry more than two decades ago when they took memory foam mattresses mainstream. The foam used was originally developed for NASA as a material to cushion aircraft seats but was introduced to consumers through the TEMPUR-Pedic mattress brand in 1992.
The company went public in 2003 and then merged with Sealy Corporation in 2012. Currently, they are manufacturing in their factories in Virginia, New Mexico, and El Salvador.
The brand is now synonymous with memory foam and it has continued to have major success. They currently offer five types of mattresses:
- TEMPUR-Adapt
- TEMPUR-ProAdapt Series
- TEMPUR-LuxeAdapt Series
- TEMPUR-PRObreeze Series
- TEMPUR-LUXEbreeze Series

The TEMPUR-LUXEbreeze mattress series is the by far the “coolest” literally of all the TEMPUR-Pedic mattress offerings. It’s designed to sleep 8 degrees cooler than the TEMPUR-Adapt line. This is made possible with Phase Change Technology and other technology and design features in the most advanced TEMPUR-Pedic materials available.
Similar to the TEMPUR-PRObreeze mattresses, these have specific cooling layers on top of the support layers. the LUXEbreeze line is all-foam and comes in Soft and Firm support layers. Both feature the exact same materials but the overall support of the foam varies, making it feel either soft or firm.
Sleepers will see the PURECOOL+™ Phase Change Material incorporated and the TEMPUR-CM+™ material mentioned previously as well as the addition of a ventilated APR® layer, the most pressure-relieving option available with airflow promotion thanks to air channels; both mattresses are 13″ tall and priced at $4,699 for Queen.

Who Should Be Interested In Tempur-Pedic Mattresses
There is a lot to like about TEMPUR-Pedic mattresses, including their pressure-relieving features and conforming support.
Those Who Prefer The Contouring Feel of Memory Foam
Memory foam beds are not for everybody but those who enjoy the feel of memory foam really tend to like it a lot. I would only look at TEMPUR-Pedic if people are specifically seeking out memory foam. If people aren’t sure, try and test out a memory foam mattress that’s available to them and see if they enjoy the feel. If people do, then any one of the TEMPUR-Pedic mattresses could be a great fit for them.
Someone Looking For Pain Reduction
The mattresses are great at providing pain relief and that’s a big reason people love TEMPUR-Pedic. The high-quality memory foam reduces the pressure points, allowing for a comfortable sleeping experience that doesn’t hurt the hips, shoulders, or neck.
At the same time, their collection of models, especially the higher density models, do a great job of conforming to the contours of a person’s body. That promotes spinal alignment and ensures the back can be in its natural, healthy position throughout the night. If people are looking for a mattress that can provide pain reduction, TEMPUR-Pedic might be a good place to look.

Someone Who Has Trouble Sleeping Smoothly Sleep Throughout The Night
TEMPUR-Pedic mattresses do an especially good job of relieving pressure points. People tend to wake up in the middle of the night when there is too much pressure on either the hips, back, or shoulders. People will wake up with soreness or the feeling of numbness because of that pressure. The brand does a great job of addressing this issue, and most people will sleep better throughout the night as a result.
Couples
TEMPUR-Pedic does an especially good with motion transfer (especially the higher density models). So if peopel sleep with a partner and that person moves around in the bed, they likely will not be disturbed by that movement. This can really improve the overall quality of sleep for both partners. TEMPUR-Pedic mattresses are frequently one of our top picks when it comes to great mattresses for couples.

Who Might Not Want To Get A Tempur-Pedic Mattress?
There is no universal “best mattress” for everyone; in some instances, a TEMPUR-Pedic mattress may not be the best fit.
Those Who Are Used To The Traditional Innerspring Feel
Those Who Don’t Plan On Having The Mattress For A Long Time
Those Looking For A Bouncier, More Resilient Feel
Those With Budget Constraints
Which TEMPUR-Pedic Model Should I Get?
This really comes down to one’s budget and personal preferences. Here are a few things to note about their line of mattresses.
- The softer the model, the more expensive it is. If having a softer or plusher mattress is the priority, one should expect to pay more for a TEMPUR-Pedic. Likewise, those who like a firmer bed are in luck because those models are generally less expensive.
- Breeze models are effective but pricier. Breeze models do an effective job at keeping the mattress cool, but they are the most expensive line within the brand. I would recommend doing this only for those who are especially sensitive to sleeping hot.
- Thicker models tend to be more expensive. As one would expect, thicker materials are going to be more expensive. Some people, like heavier people, for example, should get a thicker mattress, but not everyone needs to do so.
