PlushBeds Botanical Bliss Firmness And Feel

When we are reviewing a mattress, we usually start by looking at its firmness and feel. This gives us a good initial idea of who the mattress might be a good fit for.

How Firm Is The PlushBeds Botanical Bliss?

In our experience, the PlushBeds Botanical Bliss was close to a 6.5/10, about medium in terms of firmness. The wool and top Talalay layers have some give to them, but the layers are much firmer underneath that. Again, this is the Medium version of this mattress. The Firm will be undoubtedly firmer.

When it comes to mattresses, firmness is subjective. Your size and weight will dictate exactly how firm you find a mattress to be.

Choose Medium If:Choose Medium-Firm If:
– You are a side sleeper or lightweight sleeper– You are a back sleeper or an average weight combination sleeper

Sleeping On The PlushBeds Botanical Bliss Mattress

Starting off back sleeping, the PlushBeds is a good fit for us. We can feel our hips sinking into the top layer but not too far. The mattress also provides some good pushback, and we feel well supported.

Side sleeping, we feel some pressure on our shoulders and hips. We wouldn’t say it is a bad match for side sleeping, but a softer mattress might be best for side sleepers.

When we are stomach sleeping, the PlushBeds is a decent match. That being said, if you sleep just on your stomach, you might want to opt for the Firm version of this mattress.

What Does The PlushBeds Botanical Bliss Feel Like?

The PlushBeds features that bouncy, responsive feel you should expect from a latex mattress. When we compress the top layers and then pull our hands away, the latex pops back into place immediately. This makes it very easy to move around on the mattress.

Average Weight Sleepers – 130lbs – 230lbs

Average weight back sleepers should feel the same balance of comfort and support we did. However, those who are closer to 130lbs might feel like the mattress is a bit too firm for them. Side sleeping, average weight people might need a softer mattress but, when they are stomach sleeping, they should get enough support. If you want even more support, take a look at the Firm model.

Heavyweight Sleepers – Over 230lbs

Back sleeping, many heavyweight people should find the PlushBeds to be a good match. However, if you are over 300lbs, you might want to find a mattress for heavy people. Heavyweight side sleepers might feel some okay pressure relief as they really collapse the top latex layer. Heavyweight stomach sleepers will want to opt for the Firm model or consider one of the best mattresses for heavy people.

Lightweight Sleepers – Under 130lbs

Lightweight back sleepers and side sleepers will probably think the PlushBeds mattress is too firm for them. They might want to find something with more give. Lightweight stomach sleepers should get all the support they need from the PlushBeds Medium model.

PlushBeds Botanical Bliss Mattress Construction

Now, let’s take a look under the cover of the Botanical Bliss mattress. We’ll look at each layer and discuss exactly how it affects the performance of the mattress.

Cover

The mattress boasts a certified organic cotton cover that is soft and breathable. Below that, there is a layer of certified organic New Zealand wool. This adds some more fluff to the top of the mattress and also allows for some more airflow.

Comfort Layer

The 9″ model of the PlushBeds features a 2″ layer of Talalay latex right on top. With the 10″ model, you get 3″ of Talalay latex. This material is durable, bouncy, and more breathable than memory foam. The firmness of this layer will depend on which firmness you choose for your mattress.

Support Layers

The PlushBeds features two support layers made of Dunlop latex. The first layer of Dunlop latex acts as a transition layer between the top Talalay latex layer and the bottom Dunlop latex layer.  If you go with the 12″ model, you get another layer of Dunlop latex.

Mattress Height

The PlushBeds comes in three heights: 9″, 10″, and 12″.

PlushBeds Botanical Bliss Mattress Performance

Want to see how the PlushBeds Botanical Bliss did during all of our tests? We’ve got all that information right here.

Sleeping Hot Or Cold

In general, latex mattresses trap less heat than memory foam mattresses. Given that it is an all-latex mattress, we expected the Botanical Bliss to be a cooler-sleeping mattress.

Sleeping on the mattress, we were not disappointed. The mattress stayed mostly cool during the night and did not make us overheat or sweat.

Motion Transfer

Latex mattresses are not always the best at handling motion transfer because they are so responsive. Memory foam mattresses and mattresses that feature some sort of slow-moving foam are usually better at cutting down on motion transfer.

We tested out the PlushBeds Botanical Bliss and it didn’t cut down on motion transfer too well. Sleeping partners could disturb each other when they move around during the night.

Edge Support

Edge support is another mattress feature that couples should be thinking about. A mattress with good edge support will allow both partners to utilize the full surface area of the mattress.

Sitting and lying down near the edge of the PlushBeds, we do feel quite secure. Couples should be able to sleep toward the edge of the mattress without falling off.

Durability

Latex mattresses are also known for their durability. With its inclusion of Talalay latex and other high-density materials, the PlushBeds should last for over 10 years.

Off-gassing

We did not experience too much off-gassing with the PlushBeds Botanical Bliss mattress. Latex mattresses don’t let off that chemical smell that you find with memory foam mattresses.

Noise

The PlushBeds Botanical Bliss did not make too much noise when we moved around on top of it. Latex foam is not a particularly noisy material, so you should be able to roll around without making a sound.

Sex

Those who want a mattress for sex usually want something that is bouncier and more responsive. The PlushBeds is a latex mattress with an excellent amount of bounce. Sexual partners should have no trouble moving around on the mattress.

Company Policies

Now, let’s take a look at the fine print for the PlushBeds Botanical Bliss mattress.

Warranty Info

The PlushBeds Botanical Bliss comes with a 25-year warranty.

Sleep Trial

You have 100 nights to decide whether or not the PlushBeds is the right mattress for you.

Return Policy

If, after 30 days of trying the mattress, it isn’t working for you, you can return it for a full refund. You will need to put your mattress into some sort of cardboard box, but then PlushBeds will arrange for a curbside pickup.

How Does The PlushBeds Compare To Other Mattresses?

It’s always a good idea to do some comparison shopping when you’re looking for a mattress. Let’s see how the PlushBeds compares to one of its major competitors.

Check out our other mattress comparisons to see more options.

PlushBeds vs. Avocado

The Avocado is also a latex mattress, but it is still different than the PlushBeds Botanical Bliss. The main difference is that the Avocado is a latex hybrid mattress, and the PlushBeds is an all-latex mattress. Also, you have height options with the PlushBeds, but not with the Avocado mattress. However, with the Avocado, there is an optional pillow top, and this will affect the height somewhat.

You also get two firmness options with both mattresses. You can select from Medium and Firm with the PlushBeds. The Avocado without the pillow top is a bit firmer, and the pillow top version is a bit softer. Both mattresses are also more responsive and make it easy to move around at night.

Speaking of price, the Avocado without the pillow top does cost less than the PlushBeds Botanical Bliss.

Who Should Get The PlushBeds Botanical Bliss?

Who Should Get The Avodado?
