Helix Mattress Review Overview
Helix has three different collections of mattresses: Core, Luxe, and Elite. The Core collection is their baseline model that offers comfort and support, but lacks many high-end materials and cooling features. We’ll focus on the Core collection for this review.
The Luxe collection has zoned support, which means it feels firmer toward the center of the mattress and softer near the head and foot. The Luxe mattresses are two inches taller than the Core collection mattresses, and they feature covers that feel cool-to-the-touch.
The Elite Collection contains five high-density foam layers, a microcoil comfort layer, and advanced edge support. This option works well for heavier people and those who sleep particularly hot at night.
Helix also sells the Plus mattress, a mattress designed specifically with heavier people in mind. This mattress offers even more lumbar support and is made with particularly durable materials.

Summary of Helix Sunset Mattress
Because the Helix Sunset is very soft, it didn’t feel supportive enough for back sleeping. My hips sank a bit too far into the mattress, which pulled my spine out of alignment.
While the softness of the Helix Sunset didn’t work well for back sleeping, it’s a great fit for side sleepers. The soft mattress cushions potential pressure points around the shoulder and hip, and I felt very comfortable in this position. In fact, I recommend it as one of the best mattresses for hip pain.
Because the Helix Sunset is quite soft, it’s not supportive enough for stomach sleeping. Much like I experienced while back sleeping, my hips sank too far into the mattress and pulled my spine out of alignment.

Summary of the Helix Moonlight
The Helix Moonlight felt okay but not great while back sleeping. If you spend all night in this position, you’ll almost certainly want a firmer mattress that offers more support and helps ensure proper spinal alignment throughout the night.
Because it’s on the soft side, the Helix Moonlight is a great match for side sleeping. I didn’t experience any uncomfortable pressure around the shoulder or hip.
Much like the Helix Sunset, the Helix Moonlight is not supportive enough for stomach sleeping. My hips sank too far into the mattress, throwing my spine out of alignment.

Summary of the Helix Midnight
I felt great while back sleeping on the Helix Midnight. The mattress offers a pleasant balance of comfort and support, so I enjoyed a touch of pressure relief without sacrificing spinal alignment. Out of this list, it is the best mattress for back sleepers.
While the Helix Midnight is firmer than the Helix Sunset and Moonlight, I still felt comfortable while side sleeping on this mattress. In my experience, it offers enough pressure relief around the shoulder and hip.
I felt decent but not exceptional while stomach sleeping on the Helix Midnight. Folks who spend all night in this position will probably want to seek out a firmer mattress that guarantees more spinal support.

Summary of the Helix Dusk
The Helix Dusk is more supportive than the models we’ve reviewed so far, which helps explain why we felt especially great while back sleeping. The supportive nature of this mattress means we’re confident that we’ll enjoy proper spinal alignment throughout the night.
Since we’re entering the firmer side of the spectrum now, it’s probably not surprising that the Helix Dusk feels a bit too firm for side sleeping. I felt some pressure around my shoulder and hip, and this would likely lead to notable discomfort if you spent all night in this position.
Average weight stomach sleepers could feel right at home on the Helix Dusk, which should help them maintain proper spinal alignment. Heavier weight stomach sleepers might not obtain enough support here, however.

We found the Helix Twilight to be the best bed for back pain. It’s a great match for back sleepers who need more support due to heavier weight, back pain, or another factor. The firm nature of this mattress helps ensure that it will keep the hips elevated and aligned with the spine.
Because the Helix Twilight is on the firmer side, I didn’t feel comfortable while side sleeping on this mattress. I felt jammed up around the shoulder and hip.
The Helix Twilight should works well for most stomach sleepers, who should enjoy plenty of spinal support in this position thanks to the mattress’s firmness.

Back sleepers who enjoy a firm feel will appreciate the Helix Dawn, which is highly supportive. That said, folks who prefer a bit of pressure relief while back sleeping will likely find that this mattress feels too firm.
The Helix Dawn is decidedly too firm for side sleeping, and you’re likely to feel very jammed up around the shoulder and hip. Side sleepers will be much better off on one of the softer models.
In my experience, the Helix Dawn is the best mattress for stomach sleepers. This firm and supportive mattress helps keep the hips elevated and aligned with the spine throughout the night.

Summary of Helix Plus
The Helix Plus mattress was designed to support people who weigh more than 230 lb. It’s made with durable materials that won’t sag over time, and it offers plenty of lumbar support.
As a heavier person myself (I’m 6′ 7″), the Helix felt great in all three sleeping positions. The supportive coils kept my back in alignment when I rested on my back and stomach. When I rested on my side, I felts some nice cushioning along my shoulder and hip. I will note, however, that people who weigh less than 300 lb may not compress the comfort layers too much, which could make it feel less comfortable while side sleeping.

- Pressure Relief: Works well for heavier people. Lightweight people won’t compress the foam enough to get the necessary pressure relief.
