I Recommend The Awara Premier Natural Luxury Hybrid For…
- Back sleepers. The medium-firm feel is ideal for most back sleepers because it helps promote the proper spine alignment.
- Combination sleepers. The materials and construction make it incredibly responsive, so it’s a great fit for combination sleepers in search of a bouncy mattress.
- Hot sleepers. Between the cover, natural latex, and coil layer, this is a breathable mattress that doesn’t hold onto heat.
I Don’t Recommend The Awara Premier Natural Luxury Hybrid For…
- Shoppers on a budget. This mattress contains high-end materials. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly mattress, there are cheaper options to be found.
- Fans of a memory foam feel. The Awara Premier Natural Luxury Hybrid has a bouncy feel that’s very different from slow-moving, contouring memory foam.
- Side sleepers. Despite its medium-firm feel and latex layers, most side sleepers likely won’t get sufficient pressure relief.
Awara Premier Natural Luxury Hybrid Mattress Test Performance: My Overall Rating
When I assess mattresses, I measure performance in specific categories. The Awara Premier Natural Luxury Hybrid earned an overall rating of 4.5/5, with perfect marks in response and durability. Learn more about each category below by hovering over each circle.
Awara Premier Natural Luxury Hybrid Performance in Our Tests
Support – 4.5/5
Proper support is a key consideration in any mattress, and the Awara Premier Natural Luxury Hybrid delivers. I tested it on my back, side, and stomach, and found it supportive in every position, earning it close to full marks. The tall coils and buoyant, high-density latex help promote a neutral spine in bodies of various sizes.
Edge Support – 4/5
For couples, good edge support is particularly important. Despite its coil layer and reinforced edges, the Awara Premier Natural Luxury Hybrid collapsed 6” when I sat on the side. Resting along the edge, however, I didn’t get the sensation that I was going to roll off.
Couples will likely find the Premier Luxury Hybrid’s edge support does a good job of maximizing the sleep surface, but those who need a firmer perimeter that makes it easier to get in and out of bed may want to consider something like the Saatva Classic.
Cooling – 4/5
Compared to other mattresses, the Awara Premier Natural Luxury Hybrid sleeps fairly cool. Given the latex foam, which doesn’t trap body heat like memory foam can, and the breathable coils, that makes sense.
I didn’t feel overheated when I rested and slept on the mattress, but during the temperature gun test, it showed a temperature increase of 8.6 F. It started at 71.1 and warmed to 79.7 after five minutes, but it did cool down quickly. Still, particularly hot sleepers may want to consider a cooling mattress that wicks away heat and moisture.
Motion Transfer – 3.5/5
For couples, a mattress that isolates motion is important for minimizing nightly disruptions when one partner rolls over. I tested the Awara Premier Natural Luxury Hybrid in two different ways to assess its motion transfer. First, I placed a glass of water on the bed and then pressed repeatedly into the mattress from the other side, noting some disturbance in the water.
Next, I rested on the mattress while a co-worker rolled around on the other side, and again, I noted their movements. Latex is a buoyant material, so some motion transfer is to be expected, but those in search of a mattress that dampens motion completely may want to consider an all-foam option instead.
Response – 5/5
On the flip side of motion isolation is responsiveness, which describes how bouncy a mattress is. The more bounce, the easier it is to move around. The mattress’s latex and coils make it very bouncy. That was evident in the ease with which I changed positions and moved around — there was no sensation of getting “stuck” or sinking down into the mattress.
I also tested the Premier with a ball, which bounced quite high, indicating the high level of spring. Combination sleepers who change positions throughout the night should have no issue moving around on the Premier Luxury Hybrid.
Durability – 5/5
The Awara Premier Natural Luxury Hybrid is made with high-end, durable materials, particularly the certified organic Dunlop latex and individually-wrapped springs. While it’s difficult to predict how long a mattress will last, it’s reasonable to expect the Premier Natural Luxury Hybrid to last at least 10 years based on the quality of its materials. For that reason, I gave the mattress top marks in this category.
Awara Premier Natural Luxury Hybrid Policy Scores
Trial Period – 5/5
The Awara Premier Natural Luxury Hybrid has a 365-night sleep trial, which is one of the best in the industry. Standard sleep trials are 100 days, but you get a full year to decide whether the Premier meets your needs, so I gave it full marks in this category. If it doesn’t work out during that time, you can contact the brand’s Customer Care team to have it donated or disposed of locally.
Warranty – 5/5
The Premier has an equally generous warranty. Instead of the standard 10 to 15 years, Awara backs its mattress for the entire time you own it, again, earning full marks. That means any defects in materials or workmanship during its lifetime will be repaired or replaced at no cost.
Awara Premier Natural Luxury Hybrid – Other Factors To Consider
Beyond the parameters I assessed above, there are other factors to consider in a mattress. Here’s what else to know about the Awara Premier Natural Luxury Hybrid.
Two-Hour Nap Test
When I took a two hour nap on the Awara Premier, I fell asleep and woke up on my back. I’m mostly a side sleeper, but I clearly felt more comfortable and supported when I was on my back. Even as a bigger guy, I didn’t feel a lack of support in this position. And, while the mattress didn’t perform extremely well during my objective cooling tests, I didn’t overheat during my nap.
Off-gassing
The Awara Premier Natural Luxury Hybrid ships rolled and wrapped in a box, and while there is a detectable odor when it’s unwrapped, it doesn’t compare to the off-gassing of a memory foam mattress. Instead, it has an earthy aroma that is typical of mattresses made with organic and natural materials. It dissipated quickly.
Noise
As a hybrid mattress with a coil layer, the Premier Luxury Hybrid is at risk of potential squeaks in a way an all-foam mattress isn’t. I didn’t hear any noise during testing, but I assessed a brand-new mattress. There is a possibility that the springs in the Premier could squeak at some point in the future, though it’s unlikely.
Sex
Because of its latex layer and coils, the Premier is perfect for sex. In fact, it’s as good as it gets. The responsive nature and buoyant feel make it easy for sexual partners to move around comfortably without feeling stuck in the mattress.
Mattress Height
At 12” tall, the Awara Premier Natural Luxury Hybrid is a standard mattress height, especially for latex models. It’s not tall enough that you’ll need deep pocket fitted sheets, but it’s not so thin that it lacks durability or comfort.
Sleeping Position and Weight
The Awara Premier Natural Luxury Hybrid should be a great option for back sleepers under 300 lbs and stomach sleepers in light and average weight ranges. I’m a bigger guy who’s 6’7” and about 270 lbs, and I had all of the support I needed. My hips sank into the pillow top and latex layers, but not so far that my spinal alignment was compromised. Heavier sleepers, however, may need something more supportive, especially if they sleep on their stomachs. When I flipped over to my stomach, I didn’t get quite enough support beneath my hips.
Rolling onto my side, I felt a bit of pressure on my hips and shoulders, but it wasn’t too bad. Lightweight people may only feel the plush layers on top, but average-weight side sleepers who spend the entire night on their sides may want to consider something a touch softer. Side sleepers who weigh more than 230 lbs may want to consider getting the Titan Plus Luxe instead.
Back | Side | Stomach | |
Lightweight | Excellent | Good | Excellent |
Average Weight | Excellent | Fair | Good |
Heavyweight | Good | Fair | Fair |
Heavyweight Category – 6’7”, 270 lbs
“As a bigger guy, I felt best while back sleeping on this mattress. I got all of the support I required, and the plush layers let me sink in just a bit.” – Marten
Average-weight Category – 5’3”, 150 lbs
“I felt great when I rested on my back. The supportive latex layers helped me maintain a neutral spine alignment. But I felt some pressure build up on my shoulder and hip when I slept on my side.” – Elisa
Awara Premier Natural Luxury Hybrid Construction
Now that we’re up to speed on how the Awara Premier Natural Luxury Hybrid performs, let’s take a look beneath the covers to see how it all happens.
Cover
The soft, breathable cover is made from an organic cotton/rayon blend. A layer of GOTS-certified organic New Zealand wood is quilted into the cover to add a touch of plushness and help wick away moisture.
Comfort Layer
In the pillow top, there’s a 4” layer of medium-firm organic Dunlop latex. This gives the mattress support, comfort, and durability to help promote a neutral spine and ease pain along pressure points.
Support Layer
Eight-inch coils are individually wrapped and reinforced around the perimeter. The coil layer helps promote airflow and reduces some motion transfer. The lower cover also has handles, which is a nice touch and makes it easier to move the mattress around.
How To Try and Buy The Awara Premier Natural Luxury Hybrid Mattress
The best place to buy the Awara Premier Natural Luxury Hybrid is on the brand’s website. It’s not sold in stores, but the 365-night sleep trial makes it easy to try it out at home with minimal risk.

Awara Premier Natural Luxury Hybrid vs Awara Natural
The Premier is a higher-end version of the Natural. It has twice the latex and it costs a few hundred dollars more. The Premier Luxury Hybrid is softer and plusher, thanks to its pillow top and medium-firm latex foam. That makes it a better fit for back and stomach sleepers. The Natural is a firmer mattress, so it’s a better choice for stomach sleepers.

Awara Premier Natural Luxury Hybrid vs Nectar Premier
They have similar names, but the Awara Premier Natural Luxury Hybrid and the Nectar Premier feel vastly different. The Nectar has a slow-moving memory foam feel, while the Awara is much bouncier. Both mattresses are medium-firm, but the contouring foam of the Nectar offers more pressure relief for side sleepers.
The Nectar is made with gel-infused foam to combat heat retention, but the latex and coil combination in the Awara means it sleeps cooler overall. And while the Nectar Premier is the more affordable option, it doesn’t offer the same level of support.
Awara Premier Natural Luxury Hybrid vs. Saatva Latex Hybrid
Both of these mattresses are made with latex, but the Saatva model is noticeably firmer. I scored it 7.5/10, compared to 6.5/10 for the Awara Premier Natural Luxury Hybrid. In addition to its firmer feel, the Saatva Latex Hybrid is zoned and delivers targeted support that works quite well if you’re hoping to address back pain. Stomach sleepers should also appreciate the enhanced support. Side sleepers will fare better on the softer Awara, though I’d only recommend it for light and average-weight sleepers.
If budget is a primary consideration, you’ll spend significantly less money on the Awara than you will the Saatva. Both offer comparable sleep trials and warranty periods.
